^ Critics have some taste, though I feel like groundbreaking work tends to make people uncomfortable, leading to a lower score. HOWEVER, MOS looks to combine the closeness of BB with the scale of Avengers. I can't see how it can get below an 82 on RT.

Doc Savage....the guy in my avatar :woot:

Right you are sir. My sincerest apologies. I know how big a fan of Savage you are, and that wasnt my intent. Just a slip of the iPhone.

I'd be satisfied if MOS gets 82% or higher.

85% or higher I'm happy.

90% or higher and I'm gonna be ecstatic.

For Green Lantern? Negative buzz started when Ryan Reynolds was cast. Checking my usual boards the week of release there were a lot of fans worried from early reactions they read. I refused to believe them at first, but the embargo lifted the day of release (another bad sign) and bad review after bad review reared its ugly head.

I don't get this vibe for Man of Steel and I'm very happy about that.

I also remember seeing bad buzz when the first trailer hit, and also a negative comment from an insider quoted in the Hollywood Reporter who said the movie was terrible. So I wasn't surprised when GL was so lackluster. It still amazes me that the same guy who directed CASINO ROYALE made such an artless, assembly line film.

My key number is 88. Anything higher than that might be too much for me to handle.

Any reviews calling MoS better than Godfather, like the other film that shall not be mentioned.

Wait, you mean MOS is NOT going to win 17 Oscars, including BA for Cavill, BA for Adams, BSA for Shannon, and in an odd twist, they go ahead and just give BSActress to Fishburne simply because he was too awesome to ignore?

Pfffft... you know nothing...

An insider said that?? :wow:

Just because a director grasps one concept doesn't mean they grasp another.

Joel Schumacher was great with teenage vampires (Lost Boys) and terrible at Batman.

Heck even Bryan Singer was great at X-men movies but horrible at Supes and that's wiyhin the same superhero genre.

Yeah, two of my all-time favorite movies (Casino Royale and The Mask of Zorro) are Martin Campbell flicks. I remember being so disoriented when I finally watched Green Lantern; sci-fi is definitely not his genre.

True. But CR was so elegant in it's pacing and style, and GL looked like it was edited in a blender.

Sorry about the tv spot :( will not happen again :)

My magic number for RT is 80 or above. 85 I will be very happy, 88 and above is superb.

My guess is a score of 85

Uh huh..

thought so...

If you're right there should be plenty of examples of low quality superhero movies with over 80% fresh.

Instead you couldn't come up with one without going under 80%.

Such a shame. Martin Campbell directed my favorite Bond film Casino Royale and his involvement got me interested in the GL film. :(

Yeah I know :p I was just shocked an insider would say that...
The visuals for GL looked terrible.

If a movie is REALLY bad sometimes it will leak very early. I've been around for awhile, you should have seen what was being written about SUPERMAN IV in 1987 a few months before it came out!

Just won tickets to see a screening on Tuesday. Can't Wait :super:

I got the sense through interviews during production that Campbell realized he was way in over his head and made a mistake tackling this movie.

I specifically remember one where he admittedly struggled with the whole visual effects aspect of the film.
