I know. It's only a minor gripe that I have. I'm sure camera angles and some clever editing will do the trick. The height thing does not bother me. They seem to be cheating for height, look how he was shot in the trailer, or where the camera rig is in the new pictures. It's a shot from the back and another from below.
Besides, if he's not huge to me it's not the end of the world. A reasonably big dude pumped up on venom might work in Nolan's world rather than a large hulking beast.
In terms of Bane's look, in terms of costume it's pretty generic. I can't bring myself to be devastated over the loss of Bane's iconic.... black vest and black pants. The closest thing to a major loss is Bane's mask, as the comic mask has a great design, and I still like it better than the film equivalent. But the film mask has an interesting design in its own right.
muscles is the new permawhite...
sad.
This.
How much of his face? I think it's important to allow Hardy to use his eyes. Otherwise it's a bit of a waste to hire an actor of his caliber.
I would have no problem showing his eyes. In fact, wish that would be the only thing you could see. About the acting though, Hugo Weaving is a great actor and still gave us a heck of a performance without revealing his face at all.
So since that Movie, I always found the line "But an actor needs to show his face to emote." to be a weak sauce excuse.

Valid opinion, but I'm leaning towards the film version more so because of its mysterious design (as I and many others have already mentioned). In terms of Bane's look, in terms of costume it's pretty generic. Optimus has flames, the balrog has wings, and Bane is lean.
Does Bane use guns in the comics?
I think Id like a scene where Bane opens fire on Batman with an automatic rifle or two.

See, I think that's too much muscle.
His head looks tiny and his arm/hands looks too large is whats I thinks!
