Yeah, I agree. He looked intimidating in the teaser, and that was because Batman was out of breath, backing away, and Bane was just charging him at full speed....but just looking at the pictures, he doesn't look all that intimidating to me.

If we hadn't already gotten a look at Bane shirtless and sleeveless, I would be worried.

The guy looks freaky and is clearly packing more muscle than Bats. And intimidation isn't all about looks and size anyway. It's about mannerisms, attitude etc.

Plus you have to figure in Bane is obviously a pretty bad ass fighter. Just because he isn't bigger than Batman doesn't mean he can't kick the living **** out of him.

the problem about bane being so small is that his character is supposed to be huge.

there has never been a portrayal of bane where he wasn't at least bigger than batman. he's smart, calculating, cunning. he's also huge. let's not forget that it's a big part of the character.

now if he gets bigger in the film with cgi, or looks bigger because of camera angles/movie magic, then it'll work out, but from the shots he simply looks too small compared to batman.

Honestly, at this point I think it's premature to assume Bane will appear smaller then Batman in the final film. The stunt double for Hardy is taller then Bale. Not much, but he looked to be at least 2 or 3 inches taller. It all depends on if Nolan wants to use camera tricks or not.

2 to 3 inches is fine. They must be using him for the wide shots. Use some camera tricks on Hardy close up and you're good.

If said guy is stronger and is able to match up with Batman's speed, then yes Batman will have trouble beating him.

Where did people get the info that the stunt guy is 3 inches taller than Hardy? Are there pics of them standing right next to each other? Cause every Batman/Bane pic we've gotten, Batman has been a good 3 inches taller, plus another 3-4 inches due to his ears.

In one of the ones I had seen Batman looked definitely shorter. One where it looked like Bale and the Bane stuntman were squaring off. However, Batman had his knees bent, so that could have contributed to the look.

And someone on the hype (I believe one of the people who have been staking out the set) posted on here that Hardy's stunt double was taller then Bale. So I was going off what they had said.

There's a pic of Hardy's double standing with Bale, and they're the same height. But Bale was out of costume and therefore not wearing his heels.

Yea, but he's actually French. And you need a good actor for a character like Bane.

He had about 8 lines in the whole movie. He might be a good actor, but Sherlock Holmes didn't really allow him to show off his talent. He was just the big, nigh on invulnerable henchman.
