Well, I sincerely hope your wrong. Thats the point of venom! Maybe not taller, but its definitely supposed to make him bigger and stronger. As per every iteration of Bane in comics, cartoons, even that crappy movie he was in.

I just think it would be cool to have the first scene of him venoming up with him very nonchalantly taking off his jacket, inhaling some gas, then whopping batmans @$$.

In the comics, save for some slight bulging of the muscles, venom made Bane stronger, but not necessarily larger. It is only really in adaptations to other mediums, such as the film, the animated series and the game, that venom has actually blown Bane up like a Vac-Man doll.

This is the route I think Nolan is probably going to go with.

Bane was an experiment gone wrong from a new or modified Militant serum/PED which increases both speed and strength to superhuman levels in the participant or volunteer.

Holy s**t! I just watched the clip. Wow..

Tom Hardy reminded me of Cain Velasquez. That sparring session scene was electrifying and believable. Nothing over the top, which makes it work so wonderfully. I am beyond excited to see this film.

Youtube and Spike are finally promoting the movie like crazy.

The spy footage we've seen on the steps of City Hall shows indictaes that Bane is similar to Batman in terms of technique and agility. Coversely,the trailer footage appears to show Bane as much larger and more of a juggernaut.

I wonder if this is the effect of venom.

The teaser was shot a few months back so its not like Hardy is going to be getting bigger now. He looks big because he walks right past the camera and his traps are flexed. Im not really that bothered about his height or size, he is big enough. Nolan will make this Bane a genius unlike the last film one

It would be astounding if Bane didnt use the venom derivitive in some form - it is one of (if not the) most famous aspect of the character.

Batman and The Riddler also took venom at around that time in the comic, and didn't get much larger either. Bane's already a big guy before the venom kicks in.

The cartoon world is where it started to get extremely exaggerated for real within the story, and it was not really the same thing as the comics (Bane would bulk up), only the same as with the exaggerated Kelly Jones covers, which I love, as Jones is known for his "grotesque" style of drawing if you will. Venom would numb all pain, make him stronger, faster.

And if we are going to get a proper interpretation of Bane, it should also be explored that Bane needed no Venom to gain victory or lose it, it was just his villain gimmick. He beat Wayne by physically and mentally exhausting him, and the Venom gave him no real advantage over Jean Paul Valley. Venom became a hindrance to Bane, something that needed to be overcome to set him free of the prison of addiction, and something that Bane wanted to completely eradicate from existence, as with the Lazarus pits of Ra's Al Ghul. The psychology and character of Bane is what I loved most, and the Venom was only a vehicle to accentuate his will and inner strength.

So I am looking forward to the way Venom is going to be used in this film, if at all, and how it bears and pertains to Bane and his character, but I truly don't believe that it will visually, physically change him that much. And I pray Nolan gives us an epic brawl between Batman and Bane.

Apologies if anyone has already brought this up but I know it's been mentioned that Hardy has lost a bit of mass once production went to Pittsburgh. However I've noticed that other than in between takes Bane has always had a trenchcoat on in all the spy pictures. Is it possible that Hardy was not concerned with keeping his mass because he knew the rest of the shoot he would be wearing the trenchcoat? It's entirely possible that all the concern over Hardy being smaller now than he was a couple months ago will be irrelevant.
