Patrick Stewart and Tom Hardy both have much more going on with their subtext and internal monologue in the screen test.
That is absolutely a case of poor editing and direction getting in the way of the actor's performance. I'm certain they had similar dynamics as the screen test in other takes, but the editor (or director or even studio) chose the takes with the least interesting flow to the scene for the film; playing up the villainy and naivety of Tom Hardy's character and Picard's standard hero complex. The moral ambiguity of both characters was much more complex in the original.
QFT.I couldn't agree more. The character Shinzon was deprived of a much more meaningful representation. The director or studio clearly did not want a villain with complexity and emotion. They decided to go with the cliche "good guy vs bad guy" story arc. Shame really, there was alot of potential here. Shinzon could have been a villain of a different image and philosophy (the same way Ra's al Ghul was viewed in context). Instead, they opted out and it proved to be a deathblow for the film.
i dont he is bigger.actors sometimes lie that they are bigger then before. i am looking at the pics and i think even with more fat he is not bigger then in Warrior where he had a fantastic definition....he's bigger now than he was in Warrior. Albeit he might not be as cut or defined, but Bane is supposed to be big.

Actually, yes, it does matter. Don't get all grammar nazi at someone if you can't even properly start and finish a sentence. Point your finger at someone over an issue like that (while not even practicing first grade level grammar yourself) and you'll have three pointing back at you.compared to that **** spelling of a possible 6 year old or a drunken fool, it doesn't matter

the keyboard is the BIG problem. duracellI do believe he's stated English isn't his first language.

QFT.
Tom Hardy was trying to give them a complex character, but all they wanted was a mustache twirler. If they'd let him handle the character the way that he was doing in that screen test, Nemesis could have been much more than just a very weak rehash of the Wrath of Khan.
