The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XXIX

Bane was older than Bruce in the movie (Tom hardy has mentioned this in one of his interviews) and Fox gave him graphite knee brace which acted as a knee joint, it was not just a leg Strap.

Injuries did not trouble him as he was determined to defeat Bane.

Even the scene with the Doctor was comical

Not to me.

Also TDKR Batman almost lifted Bane off the floor when he was kicking him around at the hall. That was almost reminiscent of movie Captain America.

Right.

I recall reading online (I believe it was the Batman Wiki...could have been Nolan Fans) that the flashback scene with Bane helping Talia to escape was supposed to have taken place 30 years before Batman Begins.

That can't be right. BB was. more then 8 years previous to TDKR. That means Bane would be close to 60. He looked at least 20 in the flashback, and if that took place 30 yrs before BB he'd be pushing 60 by TDKR. Talia would be pushing 50 by TDKR, because she was at least 10 in that flashback. It couldn't have been more then 20 years before BB.

See, I was thinking that too. But I've seen several places online reference '30 years before BB'

Course, my sources were sites on the internet lol! So yeah, who knows what the truth is!

Right.

That's what I was saying,Bane was older.And I did say almost:woot:

That leg strap enabled him to kick bricks apart

Very useful when you've been out of practice for 8 long years and let your body waste away. What miraculous feats did he show with it before Bane broke him? The whole Stock Exchange sequence he relied predominantly on gadgets. When did he show any miraculous displays of strength? As for the fight on the roof, he was taking on a bunch of gun toting thugs and he did it with the aid of Catwoman. They both ran when they started opening fire on them.

And how old exactly was Bane again

No idea. Bane was made out to be a doppleganger. "His speed, his veracity". He wasn't close to being in the bad shape Bruce was. If the doctor scene didn't spell it out enough for you, Alfred's opposition to Bruce not being what he was anymore should have. The movie wasn't being subtle telling you Bruce was a shadow of his former glory.

Those injuries you speak of never mattered in a fight, you did'nt see him limping after a fight, you did'nt see him show fatigue, you did'nt see him struggle(TDK Batman funnily enough seemed to do all that).

You only saw Batman in ONE fight before he took on Bane. He was taking on regular goons, and he had Catwoman fighting with him, too. The only time Bruce showed fatigue after a fight in TDK was when he fell with Harvey. He had just had a fall from a perilous height and been shot in a suit that was vulnerable to knives and gun fire.

Well if Miranda was the same age as Bruce, 38-ish, Joey King is 13. So about 25 years. Tom Hardy is 34 when he looked like himself in the pit. So best guess I can give is Bane's 59.

Ah but was the knee brace the reason Bruce could smash the brick, or was it that he was always strong enough to smash bricks and the knee brace just relieved his injury? I'm inclined to think its the latter, and that he could smash bricks with his non braced leg as well.

Pretty sure BB/TDK Bruce would be able to smash some bricks with a powerful kick.

Talia is in early 30's. Bane looks 20's in the pit.I say Bane is 40-45 years old.

Remember Christian Bale played 20's Bruce Wayne in BB flashbacks. Tom Hardy in pit isn't 34 years old.

Here's some outside the scope of the theatrical cut materials to throw into the mix:

* Miranda Tate is in her "thirties" (The Dark Knight Trilogy - The Complete Screenplays - The Dark Knight Rises p.12). Marion Cotillard was 35 at the time of filming most of her scenes, and the other actresses they approached in early 2011 for the role were Rachel Weisz (41), Kate Winslet (35), and Naomi Watts (42) or around those ages.

* Young Talia is "about ten" (The Dark Knight Trilogy - The Complete Screenplays - The Dark Knight Rises p. 94) in her first flashback. The Dark Knight Rises (Fox Hills Green) casting call looked for a young girl of 10 to play the part. Then-8 year old actress Leilah de Meza was approached before then-11 year old Joey King. Child Talia is "older now" when making the climb out of the pit (p. 118).

* The Hollywood Reporter reported "Sources say Pence will appear in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the present story."

* Costume designer Lindy Hemming said about Bane, "[...] the menace is within him, it isn’t because he’s a wrestler, and he’s also an older character. He’s not a young kid. He’s an older man who as you see the film, you’ll know that he’s been around for a long time, so that’s as much as I can kind of tell you, but the reason he looks like he looks is he’s much more of a warrior/mercenary kind of man."

Yeah, I know. But they don't say that he's playing younger. So actors' ages are best guess.

In Batman Begins, Hauer, Oldman, and Caine played both drastically younger and older versions of their characters. Tom Hardy got to join the club. :yay:

If that age is true, Bane must be excommunicated from Expendables....:woot:

I will post updated estimates.

Bruce Wayne is 30 in the latter half of Batman Begins, Ra's crashes his 30th birthday party. At least that's one age we know for a fact is in the canon. :yay:

Here's how I see -

* Young Talia (when she climbed out of the pit) is around 11 years old.

* Bane her "Protector" in the pit is around 25 years old.

* Bruce Wayne in TDKR is around 39 years old.

* Miranda Tate is about 30 years old.

* Bane is about 45 years old.

* Selina Kyle is about 29 years old.

Rewatching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 I'm unsure which character had a less satisfying death. Voldemort or Bane. Pretty neck and neck.

Voldermort as he was written better death in books. :o

Yeah its gotta be Voldemort. 8 films of build up and then the big moment I was ready for one of the biggest fist pump/**** YEAHHHH moments in film history... and he just fades away. It genuinely took me out of the film because it was so underwhelming.

I thought....that's it ?? :jedi
