The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane

Having the white around the mouth area makes him look like a clown, in my opinion.

Still a good job, though.

Finally caught Bronson on Netflix. Wow, I can understand why Nolan likes him. He is fearless. Now my opinion of the film is not the best, it was psychologically draining, but what a great introduction to his talents for anyone who has only seen him in Inception. Not quite South American though, is he :)

Tom Hardy's performance is literally the only reason to watch Bronson.

The film itself is pretty damn weak.

Watch Hardy in the 2009 4-part miniseries called The Take.

Bane's father.

Also, watched the trailer for Bronson.

Holy crap. That looks awesome. I've already watched it twice.

Gonna have to find that.

Very true. I wish that movie was deserving of Hardy's performance.

Lads, this argument doesn't wash with me. It's kinda like saying take "The Joker/Dickie out of TDK/The Fighter and the film is just average." Well of course it'd be average, you're taking key aspects of the plot out of the film.

Bronson is a semi biopic, it is all about Bronson and Hardy's performance. So saying that the film is weak without it is kinda silly.

Not really, Hardy really makes that film by his performance. Sure, it's about him, but the filmmaking has to stand up to it as well. His performance was better than it.

I wonder if Bane being South American is a big deal to Nolan for this movie? Because to be honest, I feel like he would rather focus on the theme of the character. What Bane does, why and how he does it and that his nationality might not be such a big deal...

But that scares me, because one thing that has always made Bane, you know...BANE! Was that accent from TAS. If Hardy uses his normal voice, it won't have that same intimidating feel I think. I really hope he has the South American voice.

Yeah, I think the accent is key.

If anything I think an south American accent makes him LESS intimidating. The batman TAS voice made me laugh ever time he opened his mouth. I don't know if it was the quality of the accent or the accent itself but I could never take him seriously.

I loved it, it's so Bane to me.

"Beg for mercy Batman, SCREAM MY NAME!"

Whenever i read Bane, from Knightfall onwards, i never read him with a South American accent, so not having one does not bother me. I also agree with The Amazing Fro, i never liked TAS accent....

I always imagined his accentless. Kind of like anton chigurh where you can never quite place his accent. Makes him more enigmatic

Honestly, if Bane sounds like Anton, that would be a dream come true.

Bane needs the accent. He basically grew up in a South American prison, and even had a teddy bear that he named Osito. And why else do you think he wears a luchador mask? It's very much a part of the character. To not have the accent, would be like if Bale used his regular British accent while playing Batman. Batman doesn't have a British accent, and Bane doesn't have an American accent.

Whatever, as long as it doesn't sound as ridiculous as in the various cartoons.

It needs to sound like Anton Chigurh from Country for Old Men

Neither does Tom Hardy.
