The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane

And most think he'll be involved with the mob(regular and freaks), and most mobs are in nice dress suits.

I can see Bane usually being in a suit. But when he does his thing, he puts on the mask and the costume.

I can see Bane being a man of many faces, just like Bruce Wayne. But underneath it all, he is truly the beast we know as Bane.

i would love a scene where bruce is talking to fox in that ridiculously gigantic conference from from TDK... and bane crashes the party... bruce and bane go at it... that room has the stupid amount of chairs... and they just throw chairs... break tables and windows.. really brutal... completely contrasting to the one-sided limp fights between joker and batman... throwing chairs...smashing windows... breaking tables... good times.

I'm a little fond of the idea of Bane being a corporate big shot during the daytime.

I like that idea.

It'd be neat if he had a "legitimate" business similar to that of Wayne's only centered in South America but its all fueled by the distribution of a certain drug (Venom/fear toxin mixture maybe) all over the world.

How are they going to pull off Bane in this movie with the actor they casted? The DK movies are meant to be realistic.

I would rethink that statement before you're hounded.

But before anyone gives you a hard time let me ask you a few simple questions:

Is this realistic:

A) Tank-like vehicles that fly on rooftops and eject motorcycle pods?
B) Weaponized fear toxins?
C) People who dress up like nocturnal characters and glide through the sky with a cape?
D) Burning your face to the bone then walking and talking as if you just have a paper cut?

Now think? A chemical that pumps you up and makes you strong? Is that really so far fetched?

I mean, mix steroids and heroine and you're going to be a strong, jacked person who seems inhuman because they are numb to pain.

I think he's referring to the fact that Hardy isn't 6'8, 400lbs

Why a suit, though? I'm not against seeing him in his civvies at all, but why would he wear formal business wear? Why not a T-shirt?

I sm not objecting to the idea, but I want to understand why some others really want to see Bane in a three piece pinstripe.

Maybe not a three piece.....

I wanted to reread the Mini Bane of the Demon, I really loved it way back then.....

And I really wish we get to see the classic Bane mask at least once....

even though Bane doesn't really wear it all the time.....or a suit for that matter.

I like that art. specially how he looks in the last page. That's about the size Hardy could get to possibly.

Bane certainly knows how to make a girl feel special.

Yes. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with Bane that needs to be changed. Despite a strong 1990s feel, he's pretty cool.

i just ask myself what makes people think that bane is a cool character...joker is bad ass...no doubts
even non comicbook fans thought it was great...
they tried to make bane also very intelligent in the comics...

now they seem to get that characterication very well together in captain america.
you believe he is a clever guy with brain an then gets the muscles and super strength...

in the last installment where bane was used he was a brainless muscle freak which what i think he is when i look at some pictures on the internet when i wanna find out who they will use a main foe...

I agree. I mean turning Bane into a corporate type is stupid when you have Black Mask. I like the idea of Bane as a hired gun for the GCPD or the mob.

I'd prefer if he came to Gotham independently. Perhaps he could at first be a hired gun, but soon he breaks apart. Either who he works for, he would overcome them in some way and rise to the top and be the person to fear in Gotham. I can't really see the GCPD hiring him. Especially since Gordon is now commissioner. Would he have any say in who they bring in? Or would it be some bureaucratic thing?

I do think Bane will serve as a mirror for Bruce's/Batman's journey. Bane will rise while Batman will fall further possibly, and then Batman will take Bane down and rise himself.

Someone higher up would bring Bane in. Their wouldn't be anything Gordon could do about it. It might not be the best idea, but it's better than turning Bane in to Black Mask.

I think Bane needs to be a self-motivated individual. Unless he has a clear personal objective in defeating Batman, then he isn't really Bane.

If Talia is in this, then Bane should be using her, rather than the other way round.

I wonder how extensive Bane's origin story is going to be in this. If he even has one.

I'm not sure he really needs one, so long as it is clear what drives him.

Of course it's not necessary if it's done well, but the entire origin story surrounding Bane - being sent to prison for the sins of his dad, the Doc Savage qualities, the need to be what he is - it all falls into a good story pattern. Bruce's own time in that Bhutanese prison parallels somewhat with Bane's lifetime inside a cage. And if they avoid Catwoman's origin, and "reinterpret" Bane in a new light, then a few simple lead-ons about Bane's origin would be a good idea early into the film. It gives new fans a firm idea at who they're watching, and gives more devoted fans the chance to see a definitive 'Bane' story in live-action. The latter really is yet to be done.

I think Catwoman will get the backstory.

Depends really if Bane will be connected to Talia or not.
