Dark Knights ending is so powerful to me. It might be my favourite ending to any movie ever.

I vote TDK. TDKR is a close second.

TDKR's final moments channel the greatest emotions of possibly the entire series. And it does this with minimal dialog...it's biggest reveals are purely visual: Gordon finding the repaired Batsignal, Robin getting into the cave, and Alfred spotting Bruce.

Filmmaking 101: Show, don't tell.

TDKR

Not the best movie in the series but I liked the ending!

Where's the option for "All 3 r frippin' amazin' n' memrible and shizz!!"

Because lets face it all three are great, its like asking "Megan Fox, Natalie Portman or Mila Kunis? Which one would you kick out of bed first?"

TDKR by far in my opinion. Ended Bruce Wayne's Batman story very well.. while at the same time not emphatically ending it by say having him die would have. It was a somewhat of a feel good ending for the Bruce Wayne character to move on from the character knowing he has created something that will last beyond his lifetime.

Considering we knew that this was gonna be the last of this Batman series going into it, it wrapped up things pretty well I felt. Leaving Bruce Wayne at the end still roaming about as Batman would probably have disappointed me as I'd have been just wanting to see more of Bruce Wayne's Batman's adventures.

As much as I loved TDKR (my favorite of the series) and the ending, I think the edge goes to TDK because it leaves you needing more. TDKR leaves you wanting more, too, but since it's the final movie I find myself satisfied and happy with the ending.

But TDK left so many questions. The only real question at the end of TDKR was what happens next for Blake. Ask anyone, cliffhangers are almost always considered better than happy endings.

Not to undercut TDKR, it was still brilliant and powerful.

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight Rises

Batman Begins

For me, right now it is a toss-up between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises. I have a feeling that like other things in regards to this trilogy, my opinion of which film does what best will change from day to day.

TDK. It's the perfect summation of why he is a great hero. His obsession, his sacrifice, his physical toll, everything is succintly encapsulated here. Most of all, it's darn gutwrenching.

What edges TDK (the film i like the least in the trilogy) over the others is the combination of what's going on on screen and Zimmers score. Right as Gordon says "So we'll hunt him..." Zimmers Batman score kicks in full blast, and we get a shot of Batman running with the cops on his heels....that's what edge this over TDKR which plays the same exact music, and the Batman theme kicks in as Alred spots Bruce...but not Batman.

TDK
BB (very close with TDK)

TDKR's last shot ruined it for me. If they reordered the scenes then I might've voted for TDKR.

I agree about the TDKR ending. I'd have to put BB and TDK on the same level though. Impossible to choose which is better. TDKR's ending should have been the cafe scene, not Blake.

Megan Fox, then Mila Kunis...if I had to kick Natalie Portman out, she'd be last, or she could always stay

I really can't choose. I can't watch any of them without getting goosebumps, literally.

as much as i LOVE TDK & TDKR, i really enjoyed the ending to BB better. just awesome in so many ways:

- played out like the comics with Gordon & Batman having a conversation on the rooftop next to the bat signal
- great set up for the next film
- Joker card

ha good comparison

It's a tie between Begins and Rises. TDK also had a very good ending.

Batman Begins is my choice. It remains my favorite of the three.

Rises' ending clicked with me on my second watch but The Dark Knight's is just so pure and enduring and works on multiple levels. In fact, back in 2008 I thought "That's perfect. Stop it right there. Nolan doesn't have to come back if he doesn't want to."

it's either Batman Begins, or The Dark Knight Rises...

the joker card gave me chills... but really liked the wrap to the series...

im going with Batman Begins though

I love TDK's ending. Batman taking on responsibility/running away and Gordon praising a false idol for peace.

Gordon's monologue at the end really captures the character perfectly. "Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protecter. A dark knight."
