Will the Trailer/Teaser sneak up on us

Maybe they're using the brand new "we don't promote our movie because we're not interested in making profit" strategy.

There's rumors over on IMDB that we won't even get a trailer for the Super Bowl now. wow.
I'm not gonna get worked up over this. As you said it's just a rumor so I'm hoping its false info. Maybe EB can give his opinion on how true he thinks this is.

It's gonna be like with POTC: AWE...

"Next movie!"

....nope

"SUPERBOWL!"

...nope

"SPECIAL EDITION OF THE PREVIOUS ONE!!!!"
...nope

It's gonna either hit with Iron man or it'll hit in April. Earliest we'll see it is March.

nah.... merchandise with imagery is now coming out

I am willing to bet something big drops with Cloverfield. Makes sense to target that audience for the surprise drop...but I bet we get word like say Wednesday or Thursday of next week that it is about to debue..

some one will leek it.
Nope, didn't happen.

This teaser should have been out a long time ago now! Hulk needs PR like no other movie has ever needed it! If Universal thinks that things are looking bright for the big green fella, than they should get their heads out of their asses!... This movie needs a cool teaser, like RIGHT NOW!!! It's one of the first blockbusters to come out this year, so they are reaaaaally late in the advertising-department!
Man, if they release it with Iron Man, a great move that will target that audience, they are pretty much guaranteed to get everyone pumped for it right then and they only gotta way one month. When TDK trailer hit, everyone went "SWEET!" but it was just an exploding Bat. Then the theatrical hit and everyone went "SWEET I WANNA SEE IT NOW!" but it's too far away to see it "now" So people'll see the theatrical trailer without a teaser that doesn't reveal too much about the story then everyone is excited and the next month, bam the movie's out. Just like with POTC:AWE

It will be before Iron Man (but also attached to IM). The Superbowl is the target date.

May I ask how you know that Superbowl is the target date despite the rumour flying around, do you have any solid info?

of course there will be no trailer for superbowl its to expensive for 2 minutes.
if there wil be something it will be a tv spot.

Who says its gonna be two minutes. Your average teaser is about a minute long. Read between the lines Sarg. Who else would know this?

That's still a good deduction.

Universal, Warner Bros. and Fox also have bought time in the game but declined to disclose which films they would push.

What else could Universal promote? Doomsday? Leatherheads is football based but it's a romantic comedy. Universal has no other summer tent poll film except maybe Mummy 3 in August. I'm hoping for at least a 30 second Hulk teaser but no Hulk himself unless the CGI is completely finished.

Leatherheads featuring George Clooney is the only other option I could see Universal pimping. They might want to try and fool men in to thinking it's not a pure chick flick. Still, spending 2.7 or 5.4 million on a April release instead of their summer tent pole distribution seems odd. Maybe they're cutting it so close in terms of CGI that they're waiting to make the call.

1 minute is still a lot of money for superbowl. a spot is 30 seconds long.

You forgot Hellboy 2... those are Universal's 3 big flicks for the summer, Mummy, Hulk, Hellboy.

Hellboy is doomed. Why they are releasing it directly between Will Smith and The Dark Knight is beyond me. That's just a suicide slot.

Most fans seem to have enjoyed the Hellboy movie but even with that praise, the film didn't make $100 million worldwide. Sorry but that franchise can't be considered for the big time.

Hellboy is headed to DVD hell after about three weeks in the movies. $150 total, maybe.

Disappointed we haven't seen a simple teaser or a trailer for this production yet - this film comes out in June and even Star Trek (which is being released on Christmas) had a quick glimpse.

They better get cracking in my opinion.

I just was contacted by my source at Marvel and I was told this: "We are still working up our marketing plan, based on VFX delivery schedule..." which means the Visual FX guys are working on finalizing the fx to deliver it back to the studios so a trailer can be released. Once again EB delivers.

one has to wonder if that will be enough time though...the Super Bowl is only a week and a day away.

Hellboy 2 should move to a winter 08 release. They're date is horrible for what is probably one of the best films that will be released. Because of the content it'll be overlooked by most. Too bad.

Thats why I was hoping the teaser would be SuperBowl Sunday. Its hard waiting, but you know what...It will be worth it. Look at that Iron Man short. That was all CGI and rendered nicely. You have to know this movie is gonna top that and IMHO, it will.

I really hope that they postpone the release date...Its freckin January and they haven't started marketing! No one knows about this movie and they can't pull out a POTC 3 move because the first Hulk wasn't well received and didn't pull in over a billion worldwide...
So seriously, I keep hearing that maybe they wont get something by superbowl...that is crazy.

The marketing is awaiting the VFX people to send back the finished product as we speak. As soon as that is done we will see a trailer/teaser and more footage/pics. Man, its good to be back!!!

What makes you think this? HB II looks great and even better than the first one which i and most other people on here loved. If they market it right, it should make a healthy profit.

I hope we get a HBIII, with the budget only being small, $100 million domestic should pretty much guarantee a sequel.

when is the Superbowl again?

Tom Petty and the Hulk at the Super Bowl! Life just got a little bit better.

thanks guys... so its around a week away
