The word of the mouth is really good about this movie. Regular people don't read reviews.

Yes they do. It's the fans that show up anyway. That's why BvS had such a big opening weekend, despite toxic reviews.

Second weekend? Not so much

Thats not actually true mate.

All Transformers movie made a lot money at the box office and all of them had horrible RT.

Look: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/search/?search=transfor

Transformers 1 - RT rotten 57% - 700m ww

Transformers 2 - RT rotten 19% - 836m ww

Transformers 3 - RT rotten 35% - 1b123m ww

Transformers 4 - RT rotten 18% - 1b104m ww

See my point? Transformers 3 made 1 billion and had 35% RT.

So it's really possible for X-men: Apocalypse to reach $1 billion. :)

I doudt it reaches that high.if audences say screw the critics 700 million or bit higher is possable.

GA usually eat up films with a lot of destrucon.

Does the movie actually have good word of mouth?

I've read enough that it's definitely not DOFP level but still favorable reviews. Then again on this site, which we've discussed before, tends to hype up even some of the stinkers.

73% audience reviews RT for Apocalypse vs 92% for DOFP.

It's a different reaction...

Yes. People, twitter, etc. So it's really just reviews that say something negative to the movie.
That's funny because there are plenty of negative reviews on Twitter and from people too it's almost like the internet has differing opinions on things.

most tweets are positive.

I think it's too early to tell whether or not the general audience liked it. We'll see how the box office plays out and what the general consensus is.

It is. RT means nothing.

The only problem is the amount of super hero/like movies on theater right now.

Cap3, TMNT2, Alice2, Warcraft, etc...

It is not possible for X-men: Apocalypse to reach a billion.

I don't think optisim is something to look down on. Being a realist is fine but there's nothing wrong with people hoping for the best for a movie they love.

Marketing pretty much sets up the opening weekend. WOM determines the legs. Though, Apocalypse is in a rough spot with all the competition.

I tend to like the Cinemascore. But, my theater seemed to be enthused about it when we left the screening last night. We will see.

Does this movie have a Cinemascore yet? I just googled it and couldn't find anything.

It generally comes out Sat, I think. I think a Fri night crowd is better for doing that kind of polling.

EDIT: Saw the Variety news. Hot damn. Hopefully a good sign.

Well .. .I saw the comparison with DoFP. And DoFP has made 8.1 on previews. So yeah.

Sequels by their very nature are front-loaded as Hell, and this franchise (even the more popular installments) is no exception especially when its second weekend is after a holiday opening. 55-60% drop is coming regardless.

Which is fine. It's expected.

Gotcha, thanks for the info.

Yeah, that is typical for the franchise.
