Edit
Both got an A-, which again means nothing.CinemaScore is an A-, which is less than Days of Future Pasts A, but whips those poor reviews. Alice Through the Looking Glass is still looking at $30.9M over FSS and $9M for today. CinemaScore audiences loved it as much as the 2010 film with an A-.
Have you seen it SPIDEY?A lot of these films are just front loaded even with good word of mouth. Blockbusters these days are just more front loaded and the front loading gets worst when the word of mouth is mixed or bad. I'll be surprised if Apocalypse's word of mouth isn't mixed.
Yes I have and I come down on the it's okay/middle of the road camp. The actors are fine, the dialogue is fine but the story is thin and the plotting tired and rehashy and Apocalypse looks silly on the big screen as well. What a waste of Oscar Iaasc. Also I thought most of the visual effects were lack luster and I still don't care for how Singer films action.Have you seen it SPIDEY?
And yeah, the vast majority of blockbusters are frontloaded. Even the biggest earners.
Oh dear. So the early projection from deadline was 90 million and now its 82 million.
Oh well. Given by the reviews, competition and the cast for this. I'm not surprised. So much for the momentum and goodwill from Days of Future past and Deadpool!
The Cast doesn't count as a negative given and the good will is ok till everyone gets low expectations because of the mixed reviews and most only see mixed reviews as bad reviews because we live in a very negative world.
Nowadays, if you don't get at least a 80 or above score in RT, people think it's bad. AOU only got 75% or so and it is dismissed as a sub par movie.
Hell look at the Captain American Civil War RT thread and look at the people still complaining even though its in the 90s.
Really?
Bryan Singer should take the blame for everything. Started when he released to the media a pic of Ivan instead of Apocalypse, he even admit that he was wrong to send that pic. He was too arrogant and the critics hated that.
Singer certainly made one step longer than his leg but the main problem comes from Kinberg's bad writing imo.
