That can be said about any other superhero film though. Are Age of Ultron or Dawn of Justice going to be any less suspenseful or interesting because we know Cap and Iron Man and Thor and Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman are going to be back for sequels?

Stories can be plenty interesting and or suspenseful without having the fear of death, and having characters killed off doesn't necessarily make the story any better either.

There are other things a hero can lose besides his life. Look no further than AS-M2. No, I'm not even talking about his dignity. He has other losses too.

But we haven't seen those stories, we don't know the details AND due to time travel they're now different and not the same. The end game for Cyke for example is him in the mansion in 2023. That's all we know, he could've left the X-Men and came back, murdered Magneto, met Corsair, fathered Cable ect...

People got a good reaction by seeing the original cast again... so why not make another film with them instead of just revealing things that already in the past for multiple films when we already know their end game?

Schreiber is really the only reason I want to see the character return. He was awesome in the role, probably the best thing about the flick. Definitely deserves to be in a better movie.

I can't believe how much they botched the rivalry between Wolverine and Sabretooth in this franchise. If Origins was better, maybe you'd have something to work with, but I think as far as Singer is concerned Sabretooth is a goner.

I wouldn't mind Sabretooth coming back if he's gonna part of Magneto or Mystique's brotherhood but.... this is Apocalypse's introduction movie and I also don't want to see Sabretooth as a horseman. So... I think they should consider other characters to appear in the film.

More than "2 to 3". This is their long term direction. Baring a total franchise reboot, which isn't happening any time soon, all other options are short term directions.

Because there is a gold mine of story there. 40 years of story. The start of the traditional X-Men and their prime years. Well worth being "revealed".

I wanted two series. Uncanny X-Men with the OT dealing with sci-Fi stuff and a FC series with more down to earth stuff.

However Apocalypse onwards they aren't prequels anymore as the events of the OT aren't set in stone as the future that will happen anymore.

For example the Star Wars prequels had to lead into the OT but with this franchise they don't have to lead into the OT anymore.

The only things that are destined is Cyke, Jean, Storm, Rogue, Wolverine, Xavier and others being alive and in the mansion fifty years from now.

I'd honestly save Sabretooth until Fox is ready to introduce Mister Sinister. I feel like we're a ways away from that but when Sinister replaces Stryker as the head of Weapon X, his right hand man will probably tag along with him.

I'd say they should bring Tyler Mane back because his Sabertooth was much stronger and more powerful than Liev's Sabertooth.

He issue with bringing him back is...people will expect them to connect the dots to X1 sabertooth, they could ignore it and say yeah but time travel has changed things now but then that will just create another one of them questions of well... What happened in he original timeline? And there will be people that won't quite get that idea either

So that and do you carry on exploring the brother relationship between the 2, would they wanna put any time into this or even hiding this for apocalypse?

The only baggage is what you bring. I really, really doubt that the general audience knows or cares about the differences. For all they know, they are different characters. He wasn't exactly a fan favorite in X1.

Personally, I don't really care if Sabertooth is in this movie. Just that they bring back Liev Schrieber for Wolverine 3. Give him a good movie to really shine how good his Sabertooth was. I like the sadistic Sabertooth over the beast we got in X1. Plus, a Wolverine/Sabertooth fight on par with the Shingen fight would be amazing.

I've always pictured a live-action Sinister as more of a Victorian vampire type, and Hardy just doesn't strike me as that type. I feel like someone like a Ralph Fiennes or Jason Isaacs might be more effective.

agreed, Tom Hardy hasnt the right look for Sinister.

Ive always thought Jeremy Irons back in the day would have been an awesome choice, on the same level as Patrick, Ian and Kelsey.
And now recently I thought about Vigo Mortensen, but he is getting old, sadly.

But Id love to see an actor similar to them getting the role. Someone with a strong theatre background and with somehow an Victorian look from the get go (still without make-up and all)

edited: waiiit, have just looked on google Jason Isaacs realizing who he actually was, and interestingly a friend of mine told me some weeks ago that he would be perfect as Sinister, and I agreed, he's a really great choice. He has that sinister vibe about him and its a bit known from the Harry Potter franchise, so Im all for him getting the role. Not to mention Mr. Sinister would relaunch his career, for sure.
