I assume if you are gonna do a solo movie there is no point surrounding them with X-Men, which is why its called a solo.

And that wasn't a very good way to do a solo, for me it felt more like Iron man 4 before captain america 3 even though his name was in the title, iron man just had more emotional weight there
The reason I don't agree with this, unlike with many of the MCU guys, is that to a good chunk of the X-Men their support characters would naturally be other X-Men or affiliated characters. Especially the ones that live full time in the mansion. Many of them have relationships within the X-family and their best friends are also within that group.I assume if you are gonna do a solo movie there is no point surrounding them with X-Men, which is why its called a solo.

It would work for certain characters but would be difficult for the ones who are more entrenched in the family. Unless you do a prequel of before they became X-Men? Otherwise you might have to start making up new characters for film and I don't really want to see that. Most of the X-characters haven't fared well in solo books if that's any indication. It would make sense for it to be very limited though, you don't do an X-Men movie as a team and then do a solo and still surround the main player with X-Men characters as supporters helping because there really is no point to doing a solo

That would work better. But I don't expect it to be popular in many cases when the team films and Wolverine solos aren't even breaking the bank. There are some like Storm who are more suited to it but a fair few of the X-Men have what I call co-op powers that work much better complementing a team and putting together great combo moves, than solo (eg Nightcrawlers teleports, Kitty's phasing, Angel's flight, Cyclops's optic blasts, any telepath, best of all Blink's portalsThats why alot of solos are origin stories though because its a personal story for that character

For me it was Avengers 2.5, definitely not Cap movie. In 'Winter Soldier' whole plot was around Cap.And that wasn't a very good way to do a solo, for me it felt more like Iron man 4 before captain america 3 even though his name was in the title, iron man just had more emotional weight there

Kinberg in the podcast interview when asked about
the death of havok he said the character was killed for the sake of cyclops origin story, to give cyclops a tragic event in his life and kinberg jokingly said to lucas till hey it could be worse we killed the other guys off screen

I still can't muster enthusiasm for the X-men TV projects. Both seem like variations on the same problem as Smallville, Gotham and the upcoming Krypton. It just seems like yet more shows that won't deliver the characters or content you really want to see for the possibility the movies may use them.

It really isn't a X-men spin-off for some strange reason fox is allowing marvel to produce stand alone show with mutant characters.
