I don't mean for this to be a blanket statement, but the X-Men films have some of the most ungrateful fans. I'm really at a loss as to what people want from this series. Everyone seems to have their own idea of how things should be, and if the films don't abide by that then they're garbage. That's an unfair way to approach a film.

:db:

Would be fantastic once last movie with the original Cast,a gift for the fans.
Rogue shining,Phoenix/Famke with fire bird, the most fantastic news.

won't happen for 2 reasons 1:Hugh jackman is done after he finishes wolverine solo film.they had to convince him to do apocalypse cameo and 2:With apocalypse under-performing fox is likely to go with much lower budget for next film.that immedetly put original cast out.even some of first class
cast may be out although with jennifer lawrence many fans won't complain if
she prices herself out.If they can get James Mcavoy back to work with younger cast they brought In with apocalypse that will be acheivement.

The original Cast returns is a gift for the Box Office too.

Do you love the new teen Cast?I don't

Legion Quest/AoA shot back to back would be the perfect solution to both fan bases of OT/FC. You could do OT centric Legion Quest and flip it by having Wolverine stay in the future with dying Xavier and have the X-Men go in the past (a cool reverse). And then when they lose have Fassenbender take over Xavier's dream for McAvoy and redeem Oscar Isaac with better motivation/dialogue/costume.

End Pointless Dream

Screen Junkies just did an interesting video about fixing the X-Men franchise. Worth a watch.

How to fix Xmen:
1. Fire Singer and Kinberg

2. Reboot

3. Roll Deadpool and New Mutants and any future movies into that rebooted verse.

4. We do need the stars of Xmen in X-Men movie like Storm, Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Prof. X and Gambit but let's include new never used mutants. Fixing the Xmen means fixing them not getting rid of them. I need Storm and Cyclops and other Xmen Singer used as models respected and done right.

5. Fox should make the announcement in this comic con. Time to let go of this blundering boring 16 years old franchise and start anew.

6. And yes, let's go to space.

7. And for the love of God, rest Wolverine.

8. Magneto should start in this new verse ruling Genosha with his 3 kids.
Mystique is somewhere out there with the brotherhood of mutants. We only hear about what Magneto and Mystique are about and not see them so in few movies after we got some rest from them we roll in those stories.

9. Fire the marketing people.

10. Tell actual Xmen stories and arcs. You don't have to be a slave to the comic but we want recognizable characters and stories that are RESPECTFULLY adapted to the screen.

That would create intrest sure but jackman doesn't want to do anymore after wolverine solo film.Plus many people here don't seem to want the other 2
big stars of original trilogy Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen to return eather.

All I can ask of a filmmaker making a comic book film is that they
A. Make a good film
B. Treat the world, and the characters seriously, and with respect.
And for my money Singer, Vaughn, and Mangold have done that.

They done it better than Trank.

oh yes more hate on X-men films, and the reboot mentality.while there is a possibilty fox may consider it after apocalypse under-performance that doesn't mean i will ever like itespecilly since that makes DOFP and apocalypse into pointless films.

Enough to justify the jump in cost due to the OT's cast's salaries?

How much are the OT cast now really? The prequel cast prices are going to shoot up now the contracts are up.

Idk about that. If they decide to reboot (which I hope doesn't happen) then these 3 films stand alone. Singer has said that he intended for this trilogy to lead up to the formation of the X-Men, and in Apocalypse we finally see that come to fruition.

The property just runs too much of a gamut I think. It's part space-adventure, part civil rights analogy, part human drama etc. It's a soap opera with special powers and everyone has a favorite character and sees it a bit differently.

But I agree, if the negatives of the franchise still outweigh the positives you may need to ask yourself how much of a fan you really are.

Like, I'm upset that Storm has been, and continues to be, underutilized, but she's not the only character I like.

I don't really understand how some people both want something new, but want the OT to return. I know they're not mutually exclusive, but it is a bit odd to want to return to the past (er, future) rather than move on in a more exciting direction.

and I wish people would give Singer a break, sometimes I think he's actually the only one who works on these movies who actually does care.

Marvel doesn't even know what to do with them anymore, and you see where that went.

Sales were consistently high still. Marvel doesn't want to know what to do with them.

1. Singer is leaving the directors chair. At least temporarily. Be surprised if Kinberg writes next X-Men movie after Apocalypse disappointment. They'll both stay on as producers.

2. No

3. No

4. They set things up nicely for this to happen. And we'll be getting new never used characters in the spinoffs as well.

5. Not necessary. We're in a new timeline with a new cast already.

6. They will. Its only a matter of time.

7. We'll be getting X-23 in his place.

8. They probably will do something similar to this. They'll take a break from them for a while, but not for good.

9. Maybe.

10. Now that we have a young X-Men team to work with, I'm sure they will.

The two with the biggest price tags are the ones they don't even need. They could get away with just resigning McAvoy if it came down to it.

Saw it last night. I absolutely enjoyed the crap out of this movie. I can't believe it. Probably has to do with the fact this is one of my least anticipated movie this year combined with the lack of knowledge about the apocalypse storyline.

Even though BvS impacted me the most, I had the most fun with Apocalypse so far. Best final battle action this year so far.

I feel bad for Singer, I can tell this is quite an ambitious film.

Two things that bother me: Why would a Pyramid have a self destruction mechanism and why is Jubilee even there? I expected some display of power because I have no idea what she is supposed to be capable of.

Singer is directing 20,000 leagues under the sea next.since it is unknown what the timeframe is for making next full X-men in theory he could return to direct next film after that however i think he will take blame for apocalypse underperforming and he is likely gone.as fan of singer i hope he won't produce next film if he isn't directing because he won't get any credit if it's good just like first class.

as for kinberg i wouldn't be so sure he wouldn't write it.like FF he may get off free of blame by fox.

with Singer gone who knows if they will go into outer space as he recently indicted he would like to do.it depends who replaces him.

X-23 will take wolverine's place In X-force but only matter of time before wolverine is recast to be with younger cast.

If fox insists on lower budget for next film it's unlikely Jennifer Lawrence will be back.Michael fassbender could be gone too.

People complaining about the franchise or about Apocalypse are not less of a fan than those who enjoy the movies.

The guy from Screen Junkies has some good points. How many times we've seen Xavier being kidnapped, the cerebro being used by a villain, Eric and Charles conflicts, etc? There is a villain with a weapon to destroy mutants. Eric joins force with Charles and the X-Men. Betrays them and use this weapon for his own purpose. That X2 and DoFP. And his arc in X3 and Apocalypse are not very different.

How many times we've seen flashbacks of Weapon X or it being mentioned? How many times we've seen Eric's tragic past or it being mentioned? Yes, Logan is one of the most popular Marvel heroes and Eric one of the most popular and fascinating villains of comic books. But Storm also has a very interesting origin. Apparently there was a scene in Apocalypse where Storm tells Charles about her tragic and sad life... but it was cut. I mean, there are a lot of fascinating characters there who deserve to tell their stories properly and deserve their shining moments.

I just think the franchise reached a point where they need to change things. A lot. And blaming the fans it not the solution.

That's the viewer's flaw or fault and not actually the film's problem.
EXACTLY! This is happening in all the negative critiques I've seen. It's the viewer's problems, expectations or flat out stupidity that's the problem, not the fault of the movie itself.

It's a good film. Certainly not flawless but damn good.

The only thing the next movie needs is a fleshed out villain with inspired casting.

Give the new cast personal conflict. Sinister would be perfect.

Who is she a fan of?

She knows about X-men via me. I've read many bios to her.

She loves Angel....I think she just likes saying his full name...smh

She like Nightcrawler and Storm too.

I see. She likes Storm too? Hurray! :)
