That Forbes list is embarrassing.

I can't believe I'm seeing this tomorrow. After so many months of intense hype.
It's weird how two years seems so long and yet before we realize it, the film is in the can, we sit in a theater for two hours, and the thing we've anticipated for two whole years is already behind us.

Remember the first snapshots of Sophie, Tye, Lana and Kodi filming on the mall set and then SDCC with the trailer, all those Apocalypse pics etc? And now we are less than 24 hours away from seeing the film in it's entirety. It all goes by so fast. I just to hope to have a good time at the theater and after that, it's all about Wolverine 3 and New Mutants!

I must be the only person on Earth that really enjoyed this film. Despite it being bigger in scope it felt relatively personal in a way.

Was it a bit meandering? A bit but I thought the performances all across the board were stellar and the structuring of the film felt very much like an episode from the 90's X-Men animated series.
You most certainly are not the only one. A lot of us like you. Loved it seen it twice. Going for my third time tomorrow night. And I have plans for at least another 2 viewings lol.

10 hours left for me. :')

That list is a disgrace. I know its just an opinion but I can't take someone seriously if they really think X3 is better than DOFP and Deadpool.

It's rife with problems in the script and FX departments, but I really enjoyed it.

They're gonna drag lol when I was waiting for my session the hours were so slow.

Why cause Storm isn't in it lol?

No. It didn't feel like an X-men movie at all.

Young Storm was there.

11 hours. Hopefully it will be a busy day at work otherwise the wait will seem very long.

Hope you enjoy guys

No it's not just you.

Don't know if it was posted but Forbes has a list of the films ranked from worst to best and they have DOFP before TLS.

9.Origins
8.Apocalypse
7.Deadpool
6.DOFP
5.X3
4.The Wolverine
3. X1
2. X2
1. First Class

while reviewer has his right to like films in whatever order he wants I question
his tastes as critic.

I wonder if it would've helped if they released the intro to the movie like they did with DOFP. As great as the scene was, I doesn't really spoil much. It would've definitely added some anticipation.

The introduction to this film was exactly like some of the cosmic episodes from the 90's series which chose to give you the origin of the villains in which some ritual is going on and then a big battle ensues. There were dozens of instances like this in the t.v series and something I personally love.

The film is a big homage to the 90's show (which was still pretty 80's influenced) and again to me that was a big plus. It's what I've been waiting for to be honest.

I'm actually really excited for a potential sequel and I hope it performs well.

That's good to hear. I've been seeing plenty of love for it from fans!

How does it compare to DOFP to you? Is there an intensity or any type of suspense to the climax, like DOFP and X2? I feel like Singer is pretty good at that, and was hoping to see it in Apocalypse.
DOFP is the stronger film but I feel Apocalypse in many way is the better X-Men film. Hope that makes sense. :hehe:

I'd say it was the weakest of the three in terms of building the right level of suspense at the end. It wasn't done badly as the battle was freaking great but it felt neater done in DOFP and X2.

The action and battle scenes I found to be incredibly kinetic and fluid more akin to those of First Class but with the gloss of DOFP.

You most certainly are not the only one. A lot of us like you. Loved it seen it twice. Going for my third time tomorrow night. And I have plans for at least another 2 viewings lol.
Yeah, I'm probably going to watch it again in theaters. I've done that with all three of the major superhero films this year.

On a personal level BvS, Civil War and Apocalypse were my childhood of the 90's realized on the silver screen. So beautiful and flawed just like the cartoons I watched of that era. I know I'm not in the popular group with this opinion but I found all three films to be highly revelatory and almost a crescendo in the vocal peak of the genre as a whole.

10 hours left for me. :')
I really hope you like it. I know you're a 90's kid like me so I think you'll enjoy it JP. I think this one actually has some of the best action sequences of any superhero movie. I don't care what anyone tells me but that introduction sequence was phenomenal.

No it's not just you.
Good.

It's rife with problems in the script and FX departments, but I really enjoyed it.
I thought the FX were emulating the gradient and overall look of the 90's cartoon and Jim Lee art. I think they did a great job in that front.

It's interesting to me that a lot of the reactions seem to be, "Oh my god, it's just like the 90's TAS!" and enjoying the nostalgia and the cartoony nature of the film and the other half is like, "Oh my god, it's just like the 90's TAS" and kinda turned off by it turning into a cartoon basically. (Of course, there is a way to adapt the nature of the cartoons without it turning into some eye-rolling affair, but it's a bit interesting to see that there are reactions like that as well as people who are like, "That wasn't a great film, but at least it was like the 90s TAS!")
They did turn it into the cartoon but I didn't feel that single actor (and I mean a single) played it like one. It actually had some of the better performances of all three of the major superhero films and that's saying something because Civil War had some really powerful ones but the cast here delivered even beyond that at several times.

So yes and no. ;)

Yes to all of this. Watched it twice now and probably watching it a third time as well. :)

Less than 7 hours for me and I'm shivering with antici....pation.

I've loved the whole journey, from the casting announcements to the trailers to the posters to the twitter emojis to the 80s videos. DOFP was a phenomenal movie but it didn't have my favourite characters. I'm thrilled that I finally get to see the origins of the X1 team (plus some!) and the set up to a new chapter focused on the younger actors (aka the actual X-men team). I'm no fan of comic book Apocalypse but at least he'll be the force to bring my dream team into action. I'm very aware that this movie closes the First Class trilogy and that Xavier, Magneto, and Mystique get the focus. It's fitting and these are still characters I care about after countless movies.

The reviews and box office projections don't bother me on a personal level. The only thing they affect are bragging rights in fan spaces. I'm confident I'll like it. Negative reviews call it a retread but I'm just excited that Scott, Jean, and Storm are returning to the X-mansion. I've managed my expectations to withstand some possible bumps in the road, but it would take something truly fatal for me to be as disappointed as I was with TLS. As long as the movie performs well enough to get more team X-movies with the new cast I'll be happy.

I'm going in with a full bias and I'm ok with that (I know others biased in the opposite direction). I've loved everything I've seen from the movie so far. I'm proud of this franchise and its longevity. There are a lot of characters that haven't been developed and stories that haven't been told, but that just means the franchise has a long future ahead of itself. I wish this board was a happier place, but it's really just an internet forum. My personal opinion is more valuable than internet negativity. All of this build-up for 2.5 hours in the theatre lol.

I like this film.shame the critics are trashing it and some here are joining in on it because their favorates don't get focus or it isn't done exactly like MCU films.Apocalypse is nowhere near the piece of crap that was last stand.I have been aiding to my ignore list due to massive negativity around here.

It is superior to TLS But XMOW is still the worst
