They want it to look the same because the MCU is popular.
People want to be part of the crowd, or to put it accurately, they want liking X-Men to be cool.

And it probably will become cool. Unless the masses have moved on from superheroes amd something else is cooler in 5 years

Comes out of a spaceship?

Meaning she lands on planet earth.

I could be mixing up info, but I don't think I am. Think she's gonna be an alien.

Some people can't stand the fact that we don't enjoy the treatment of 98% of the characters in this franchise, so they twist our words by saying we only care about costumes or all superhero movies looking the same, even tho we've been very, very clear about what we dislike. For me its just trolling now.

Fox no doubt did a fantastic job with Charles, Eric and Logan. But when you fail to give believable motivations for 90% of your supporting character and you struggle to give them lines or a personality... I don't think you have the best written CBM franchise.

Time to move on.

Didn't you hear? These weren't meant to be Ensemble Movies. Pizzas and Tacos and such.

Yes, if it is good, this is a real shame. There is real passion there. It doesn't look like just another corporate product.

I also feel very bad for Mangold and especially Dafne Keen. She was going to get a star vehicle made for her by an artist. Now that is gone.

But hey, cotumez.

Its all about cotumez.

Lol.

That's far from the truth. If Fox handled Gambit, Psylocke, Angel, Jubilee, Storm, Havok, Banshee, Emma Frost, Phoenix, Rogue, Iceman, Shadowcat, Beast and Colossus so well in all of the films that they appeared in. I might be rallying against a Disney Marvel studios takeover. But Marvel not only seems to handle their heroes better, most importantly they have yet to ***** on the X-Men unlike Fox did so many times. So no doubt, I am choosing Disney over Fox who gave the Kingberg the key role in mapping these films out.

You have no real basis for this. Deadpool, Logan and Legixn got good reviews and aren't underrated here. While I find Logan overrated and that's just me.

Are any of those X-Men team films? Also you will complain about anything not going your way in this movie while understanding if Disney needed to change things because you want to be sitting with the cool kids. Disney has made plenty of mistakes with the way it has treated the Marvel mythos but most don't hold them accountable and just give a blind eye but if Fox did it that would be a whole other story.

Well X-Men, X2, Days of Future Past and First Class got good reviews and most of the users here don't call them bad films. I don't know if you are just new here or you haven't done your research yet. Apocalypse got bad reviews FYI.

And if Dark Phoenix turns out to be good, then good for everyone including me. But if turns out to be ****, don't forget me to say "I told you so".

And you don't know my post history for you to say that I Blindy accept mcu's every decision. I for one don't like their TV shows and I've already said multiple times that Homecoming is overrated and didn't need to feature Tony Stark. And if they make drastic changes in their X-Men like turning a guy character into a female, or a race swap or not staying true to the look of the character or something drastic like their Aunt May - I'd be the first complain.

You just won't see me complaining about MCU in their threads that much as I only read X-Men / Inhumans comics and aside from the Inhumans, they have yet to adapt the X-Men, so I am not that passionate to talk about their projects for Captain America, Avengers, Spider-Man, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, Ant-Man, Jessica Jones, Punisher, Black Panther, Hulk, Iron Fist, Runaways, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Luke Cage and Shield everyday.

They want the characters treated respectfully.
Preach it! No matter how many times we repeat this, our opinion is reduced to wanting costumes and jokes. Or wanting a replica of other films. And wanting good costuming isn't even a bad thing. Not only is it part of the visuals of a superhero film (giving it identity), people get paid for designing them, so expecting quality is understandable.
I completely disagree. We have more versatile comic films now then we ever did, and yes Marvel does that too. GOTG, Iron Man, The Avengers and Winter Soldier are not the same exact film or in the same tone.

Your battle against Marvel is something you will just never win Crowe. If these movies were all as identical as you say then they would not be making money or getting the critical praise they do. Not preferring them is fine but I think it's time to just admit it's not your style instead of acting like all this is fact. It's not. Fans do not want the same films. They want the quality.
You NAILED it def28.:oldrazz: When superhero movies get samey (like X-Men Apocalypse) critics ADMIT it. All Marvel movies this year got a rousing reception (although I disagree when it comes to GOTG 2) This genre is not flourishing out of serving people the same thing. Homecoming in particular I remember was praised for bringing something fresh to the stale Spider-Man films by making it essentially a high school movie, same with Thor Ragnarok being a totally different experience from the previous Thor movies. But people only want to give credit to Logan...

Judging by the thousands of complaints through the years...

Fans here are just fed up with the way Fox treats their favorite X-Men and want a different pair of creatives to give it a go for the first time in 18 years. Funny enough...they want something new.

Why some of you can't seem to grasp that truth is just odd at this point. I mean, do you really think passionate fans of Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Psylocke, Angel, Havok, Emma and Jubilee are happy?

No, we want the characters not called Raven, Xavier, Erik and Logan to be treated respectfully.

Nothing to do with the MCU formula. Seriously, will you stop this.

The only way you can make Fox-Men look good is to keep bashing the MCU?

Cassandra Nova inhabits the body of an alien shapeshifter, so it could still be her. Do your research :oldrazz:

All that's well and good (I like the part where the Raven retcon from First Class is finally tackled) but then again this scenario has Charles locking someone's powers away. Again. Makes this Charles such a chump. Always regressing to the previous iteration. It's like he never learns his lesson.

It’s not necessarily “locking” her powers away more like they had a psychic fight on the astral plane and Charles had no choice but to “destroy” her because of her violent behavior/nature, he was young and feared for his family. Or I actually like the idea (from her bio) that her and Charles are twins and their telepathic abilities developed in the womb, but Charles’ overpowered her and she was born stillborn but a part of her consciousness latched on to Charles psyche like a parasite, from their they had a astral plane battle and Charles sealed her consciousness in their blah blah blah LOL when he was a young boy. It’ll make sense as to why he was so quick to adopt Raven and why he was so protective of her.

I am totally not! :cmad:

Costume design is also part of filmmaking.

And the most ironic thing is, as I said before, Storm, one of the most important female characters, is mostly used for power display and VFX, and power is the only reason many characters like Psylocke, Bishop, Lady Deathstryke, Blink, Sunspot and Colossus were used in this franchise. They use the costumes argument as trying to imply our motivations are superficial when we're just tired to see the characters being treated in a superficial way. We want substance.

Costuming is a big part of these comics and one of the reasons why the comics sold very well in the past. And IMO, they deserve to be adapted well in these films. its part of the whole package.

Characterization
Costuming
Power display
Development through out the films

One way or another, Fox failed in those things when it comes to a handful of X-Men.

Please no.

It was bad enough in the comics written by a competent writer like Grant Morrison.

I can already see Kinberg making it sound even more stupid.

Totally, there has been so many things by both studios amongst others that I didin't think I'd ever see mainstream, well reviewed or just made this decade.

If these movies were all the same thing, they just wouldn't be having success all around. Audiences, fans and critics are not all morons falling for the same ploy over and over. In this busy market these films have to be different. There are just too many, it's the only way for survival.

Yep, sadly the studio bias is real. Which is why far too many can't see the truth here. If Fox fixed these issues there would hardly be any debate. As the majority of us here posting are X-Men fans first and foremost. That's whats always so funny. Too many hardcore fans who have been here for years who loved these films more then anything now are tired and want something new. Nothing wrong with that, yet now they are labeled Anti Fox everything? Come on.

A bit off topic but Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee) is in three Oscar-buzzed movies this year (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, Get Out, The Florida Project). He's doing quite well! Shame he didn't come back for more X-Men movies. Was it ever confirmed if he didn't because they decided to kill him or they decided to kill him because he couldn't come back?

I think when Vaughn left and Singer cape back on board and the studio went DOFP as the storyline which meant most not all of the of the budget was going towards the returning cast so I think Banshee Emma Angel Riptide Azazel were cut from the script aside Havok’s little cameo in favor of Blink Bishop Subspot Warpath who basically had larger cameo appearances

Yes and what's more, we're told (by noobs, no less) that we shouldn't post here coz we don't like the movies.

Many of you do sound just like the people who stay spamming anything DC makes and the two other spiderman franchises. Studio bias isn't just fox fans.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Pretty sure many came just to argue on the topic they claim to hate. Not sure why the ignore feature is still not their friend, if it bothers them so. They seem more interested in insults.

"The Raimi Spider-Man movies were never good!"

It's probably some of the same people camped here.

I don't get it, but it's entertaining lmao.

2018!!!

New Mutants
Deadpool
Dark Phoenix

Cannot wait!

Don't care that much about DP, but between Phoenix and NM, 2018 has ridiculous potential.

It's the year of Jean Grey in both the movies and the comics.

Which is pretty awesome since Jean has been neglected since 2003.

What's the fan reaction to the Phoenix/X-men Red roster reveals?
