He's suppose to look like McKellen in 7 years..... (X-Men took place in 2000)

Empire Magazine
Another X3 callback, I see.
.
Shame we're not seeing Jason Wyngardes illusions to tempt Jean in this film. That would have been visually wonderful to see.
The spamming is a bit insane, tbh. I've seen scripted bots that were less frequent and repetitive.
As far as any future teaser: I'm torn. I know I'll look at whatever teaser they put out, but I sort of want to go into the final main series X-Men movie completely unspoiled.
Best shot of Jean, and the other pictures look good.
Don't understand why they're against white haired Magneto tho. Clearly it was never part of his mutation in the films, but the man is 60 now...
Famke and Jackman scene was pretty steamy for its time and even more so now in today's pg13 CBMs.
Logan should be under Jean in that pic not Scott. I want my X3 remake![]()
Its laziness.
It comes off morearly like this scene:

Hmmm interesting, I'm guessing Chastain is a mix of Emma Frost and Lilandra. I woudnt be surprised if she possesses telepathy as well.
Some of the production stills from X3/Origins Wolverine/Apocalypse looked good so, I don't really see a reason why these pictures would get me excited. Unless they are start showing costumes or the other unseen new characters.
No, that's something fans cry when they don't like something.
Correct. It simply says the "not too distant future." It's intentionally ambiguous. Also I agree with those who say that Chastain looks quite creepy here, and I hope that they finally do right by the Jean/Scott relationship.
Also are these photos part of the same batch that was released a few weeks ago, or different?
Or simple is the most comic-accurate things we ever seen on all cinecomics.
that is true, but that doesnt' make that smarter, psylockolussus is right.
It could be very simple for Fox, they have the key even in Shaw in First Class: mutants ages slower than normale (with Logan, more slower, of course)
The characters in the comics simply don't age, because if they followed real time, then a lot of the characters created in the 60s to 70s would have been senior citizens by now.
The problem with these films, they gave a date and made it clear that's been a decade or years since the last time. And do you really xpect the viewers to criticize for not making them look older.
X3, Ant-Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America films, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 managed to do those things. And this one can't even do a simple hair dye.
Those dates are ignored by now. Also in comics there were set dates.
Some characters like Magneto (and accordingly Charles) have a date that cannot be changed, cause their past is deeply tied to their being. So the problem for Magneto there is also in comics.
Other characters like Iron Man have a past that can be changed without losing something important. (So the war of Iron Man can be: Vietnam, then Iraq, then something else etc..).
But, repeat. You cannot change Magneto's past. So it's unavoidable to have a very old Magneto in today.
It cannot have less than 85 yo.
So you have to find a way to don't aged it. You can explain it or use Quesada's superpower "it's magic!"
The film doesn't actually give a date so that could be retcon-able
They could say X1 was set 2013 if they liked.
He should've started greying in Apocalypse, his hair should be white now and he should definitively look like Ian. It's pure laziness, that's all there is to it. It's like if Marvel had 2017 RDJ play Tony Stark in 1991 or 33 year old Haley Atwell play 90 year old Peggy Carter with no makeup or anything (both instances, Marvel used amazing technology to age them up) Sheridan should be looking like Marsden by now etc.One problem with that plan is that X1 showed the World Trade Center and everyone knows those buildings were destroyed on September 11, 2001. With Dark Phoenix being set in 1992, this series is inching closer to where the original trilogy started so Magneto should've looked like Ian McKellen already.
