Interesting.

I would add the more I see of Chastain in images and hints, the more she resembles to me Klaatu in The Day the Earth Stood Still. (The good one.) Whether she is Lilandra or some other alien, I think she is a messenger who's come to earth to investigate the potential cosmic threat levels of Jean Grey. If she tries to tempt Jean like Emma Frost does in the comics, which I imagine she will, it is only to see if Jean can be tempted or seduced. If she gives in, she will go Klaatu and try to take Jean out.

Just a theory.

Hmmm interesting, I'm guessing Chastain is a mix of Emma Frost and Lilandra. I woudnt be surprised if she possesses telepathy as well.

This seemingly lends more credence to the idea that they're maybe going with the "fire-ry erethral cosmic godlike" look for Phoenix-Jean in this film

Shame we're not seeing Jason Wyngardes illusions to tempt Jean in this film. That would have been visually wonderful to see.

These pictures are giving such a new vibe. That's more warmth between Sophie and Tye in one picture than we've seen before with Cykes and Jean. So very interesting. Chastain looks amazing, and I hope they give this character enough room to be something unique. Looks good!

The spamming is a bit insane, tbh. I've seen scripted bots that were less frequent and repetitive.

As far as any future teaser: I'm torn. I know I'll look at whatever teaser they put out, but I sort of want to go into the final main series X-Men movie completely unspoiled.

Great idea that I didn't think of. The fact that this is the last one has raised my anticipation tenfold, so I'm not going to watch the trailer either until I see it in a theater or in a commercial.

Best shot of Jean, and the other pictures look good.

Don't understand why they're against white haired Magneto tho. Clearly it was never part of his mutation in the films, but the man is 60 now...

Its laziness.

Famke and Jackman scene was pretty steamy for its time and even more so now in today's pg13 CBMs.

Logan should be under Jean in that pic not Scott. I want my X3 remake :o

Hugh Jackman isn't coming back

It comes off morearly like this scene:

I want to see Angel.

She could be an amalgamation of those characters, if she was only playing Cassandra Nova Prime, she should have been bald.

The Chastain/McAvoy shot is terrific. She looks so cold and superior while Charles is so weak and human.

Instead Sophie Turner doesn't convince me (neither in GoT) so her ability is all in Kinberg's hands. And that'is an huge unknown.

Generally all the shot give me some little trust in Kinberg.
But one thing are still photos, other is movie.

Some of the production stills from X3/Origins Wolverine/Apocalypse looked good so, I don't really see a reason why these pictures would get me excited. Unless they are start showing costumes or the other unseen new characters.

I don't remember for X3.
But for Origins they were tolerable at best, there wasn't a very good photo.
Yes, than the movies was worst than the photos.

For Apocalypse, i like the movie, you know.

No, that's something fans cry when they don't like something.

What a response. If its not laziness, then what is it. They simply just don't care? Didn't you say before that it was okay that its been 20 years in Dofp, then Apocalypse came, it was still okay. Well now its been 40 years since First Class.

Correct. It simply says the "not too distant future." It's intentionally ambiguous. Also I agree with those who say that Chastain looks quite creepy here, and I hope that they finally do right by the Jean/Scott relationship.

Also are these photos part of the same batch that was released a few weeks ago, or different?

The ot is supposed to take place sometime in the early 2000s, while The Wolverine I think was set 9 years after X3 and Dofp was set in 2023.

A lot of the First Class characters xcept for Mystique should look older now. Its really laziness and the lack of attention to detail.

Or simple is the most comic-accurate things we ever seen on all cinecomics.

that is true, but that doesnt' make that smarter, psylockolussus is right.

It could be very simple for Fox, they have the key even in Shaw in First Class: mutants ages slower than normale (with Logan, more slower, of course)

The characters in the comics simply don't age, because if they followed real time, then a lot of the characters created in the 60s to 70s would have been senior citizens by now.

The problem with these films, they gave a date and made it clear that's been a decade or years since the last time. And do you really xpect the viewers to criticize for not making them look older.

X3, Ant-Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America films, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 managed to do those things. And this one can't even do a simple hair dye.

Also in comics there were set dates.
Some characters like Magneto (and accordingly Charles) have a date that cannot be changed, cause their past is deeply tied to their being. So the problem for Magneto there is also in comics.

Other characters like Iron Man have a past that can be changed without losing something important. (So the war of Iron Man can be: Vietnam, then Iraq, then something else etc..).

But, repeat. You cannot change Magneto's past. So it's unavoidable to have a very old Magneto in today.
It cannot have less than 85 yo.
So you have to find a way to don't aged it. You can explain it or use Quesada's superpower "it's magic!"

I need to see more images of Chastain’s character!

Those dates are ignored by now.

Anyway, if they have just said that these films are set in the past that would have been fine.

The film doesn't actually give a date so that could be retcon-able

They could say X1 was set 2013 if they liked.

One problem with that plan is that X1 showed the World Trade Center and everyone knows those buildings were destroyed on September 11, 2001. With Dark Phoenix being set in 1992, this series is inching closer to where the original trilogy started so Magneto should've looked like Ian McKellen already.

He should've started greying in Apocalypse, his hair should be white now and he should definitively look like Ian. It's pure laziness, that's all there is to it. It's like if Marvel had 2017 RDJ play Tony Stark in 1991 or 33 year old Haley Atwell play 90 year old Peggy Carter with no makeup or anything (both instances, Marvel used amazing technology to age them up) Sheridan should be looking like Marsden by now etc.

It's so distractingly lazy that Charles and Erik are 60 and look exactly the way they looked 30 years ago
