So how empty will this thread be if Simon Kinberg is announced as The Over Lord of an X-Men movie

Probably about as empty as any thread, its still the next X-Men movie and its still gonna be talked about.

lol couldn't be truer, unless ofc the franchise made another game-changer.
Nah even if that happens there'll be silence followed by: "Yes but do you remember X3, Origins Wolverine and Fant4stic?" :p

The main franchise is getting stale one way or the other.

So either something different, alot of fan service, major casting, new characters or something negative will get it the most attention. Otherwise there will not be much to get the attention of others.

Most people don't go on the internet to say how much they like something, they go to complain and debate.

After seeing X-Men: Apocalypse I was convinced these guys can't keep up a good streak so I understand the haters constant skepticism a bit.

It's a coin flip whether this sequel is good or bad.

Its a fair discussion but its one thats slightly (Moot :p) right now because no matter how much its talked about and tried to be figured out its not until later when certain decisions are made will any of it really add up or not add up.

Is it a mute point or a moo point? A cow's opinion. :oldrazz: j/k

Friends reference.

I'd rather have Kelsey Grammer's Beast narrate about that over an opening scene in a destructive dystopia before Cable travels back in time.

"I once said time was a river. We now believe there are many rivers, many realities, with streams flowing in and out. And this particular river is getting very rocky..." - then cut to shots of a massive grey Apocalypse marching across the landscape, blasting down crowds of running, screaming people (a bit like the scene in War of the Worlds)...

I am willing to bet the whole time travel thing from DOFP won't be mentioned again, let alone going back to referencing the time travel logic set up.

In the long run only the next few movies will tell the direction of this series.

as far as flagship X-men films the only film that may get any reference is apocalypse especally if returning cast is mcavoy, hoult, and apocalypse newcomers and since donner has said they plan to move on from xavier and magneto relationship as focus.

Xavier knows what happened in the old timeline and now knows that the visions that Jean are having about her causing tons of death are not dreams. So to not talk about it would odd.

The whole reason Jean was recruited was because of what he saw in Logans mind & what Logan told him & to ignore Days Of Future Past / what he saw with original Jean in his mind would be stupid through Logans mind Xavier saw what Jean did in X3 it would be stupid ignoring that

I disagree.next trilogy will be in 1990's.they are keeping current cast.

they kept McAvoy, Fassbender, Hoult, and Lawrence for the 60s, 70s, and 80s films. Why wouldn't they do the same with the new cast?

May want to proofread that post.

and they were rightly critzed for it.trying to pass off apocalypse cast in their 40's is just ridculasand mcavoy in his 60's lol

Well i think the time they could have acknowledged X3 would have been in Apocalypse during the scene with jean having a nightmare and Xavier tries to reassure her.

If they want to keep going forward chances are they won't keep referencing the time travel tide thing since they haven't made any effort to explain the changes and differences in the new timeline, everything is just how it is.

That doesn't mean they won't do it again. They continue to do many things they have been criticized for.
