The Winter Soldier "Yeah, it's going to be fun"- The Black Widow/Scarlett Johansson Thread - Part 1

That'd be hilariously awesome, but I kind of doubt it. It'd be fun to see Tony and Steve's reaction if that were to be the case however.

Just in case Kevin Feige or any of his spies are lurking in this thread, I'm gonna go on record as strongly supporting a Black Widow solo movie. Make it happen, Marvel
seconded

I think they could really make it interesting by establishing that Natasha was actually born in 1928 as in the comics and that she trained with Winter Soldier as in the comics. These memories have been wiped from her memories much like they were from WS. This would be much more interesting than a movie with Hawkeye IMO. So a WS and BW movie would be a dream come true for me.

As long as its a hard R and includes gratuitous nudity sex and bloody violence I'm all for it. Because: Artistic Integrity and KIR. And a script by Garth Ennis or no dice.

:funny: Some of you are really grasping at straws if you think there was some real romance thang going on with her & Cap.

I think the relationship with Cap and Natasha is still developing, neither are the type for misty eyed cheesy romance. Either way I just hope they don't put him with Agent 13 in Cap 3.

Hopefully they will push the envelope with their Netflix shows.

Given how all-knowing [blackout]HYDRA/Zola[/blackout] are portrayed as, I think we can take her being 30 years old to heart.

It might probably come off as silly storytelling if she turned out to be that old, and just didn't remember it. Or notice that she didn't age since the cut-off period.

I don't really think Feige is "committed" to Sharon and Steve. Nor is anyone. I don't know who Steve will be dating in Cap3, might be no one at all. I do think Natasha will be the female lead again.

I think it's obvious that Steve will start developing a relationship with Sharon in Cap 3. I have faith that Russo Bros. will do a good job with it. Why don't you like it?

Yeah I was disappointed when () revealed her age. It would have been fun if () had said born in 1928 though

I think Steve is for the chop in Captain America 3 or Avengers 3 with WS taking over.

That would have necessitated an explanation right away, though, which would derail the flow of the movie some.

Not necessarily at that time. There is already a lot of mystery surrounding Natasha whats a little more. :woot: They have already hinted at Winter Soldiers mind being wiped after each mission, this could have happened to her until she broke free from the KGB.

Never liked the fact she's related to Peggy and don't care for the actress they cast. If they are going to bother giving Cap some romance type of thing in the 3rd film, I'd rather they built off his relationship with Natasha as their dynamic is interesting and minus weird baggage.

Whedon said one of the reason he favored Widow during Avengers because she was a normal human being, a young woman with a dark past. The Russos and writers for TWS specifically said one of the reasons Black Widow was chosen to have a significant role in the film was to play off their age/era differences. When asked if they were going to use Natasha's comic background of being from the 1920s they said no that wasn't her background in this universe. That it worked for the comics since it happened over decades but having half the cast being born in the 1910s and 20s and youthful took away any uniqueness and the same reason they're not going to have a bunch of Steve villains from the 1940s show up un-aged.

Feige and company could change their minds later on in a Black Widow film and there might be some wiggle room to do so since BW but as it stands she was born in 1984.

I agree with Hunter Rider on the issue off Sharon as love interest. The actress was OK but there was no discernible spark in a film filled with character chemistry.

I think the baggage the character holds in the MCU (not the comics) of being related to Steve's first and so far still primary love interest Peggy is icky not "sweet" as one of the writers claimed.

Then add in the comics baggage of how Steve "died" and what happened to his son at the hands of Sharon, brainwashed and not and it's truly difficult for me to be excited by this pairing or how it potentially ends. But because one of the writers called it "sweet" I think as of right now that's the relationship they plan on giving us.

Again, she was only in the movie for like five minutes and she and Cap had ONE scene together that lasted less than two minutes. I'm sorry, but that's not nearly enough to judge whether they have "chemistry" or not, it's that simple. And I DO fine the Steve/Sharon relationship sweet. She NOT PEGGY!!!!!! She's her own character, so I hate it when people try to claim that she's Peggy 2.0 or something. Also, given how Natasha only revealed her first name to Cap, I'm guessing that they're going to have him fall in love with Sharon as her own person BEFORE he finds out that she's related to Peggy.

That is incredibly depressing. He's not dead. :oldrazz:

Actors can do a lot in five minutes. Mackie in that 2 minute opening scene with Evans had about 1000 times more chemistry. Steve and Peggy had it from the first scenes even when they didn't really share any dialogue.

Sharon in the scenario knows who Steve is so it never stops being icky for me. Add to that - that in the comics the relationship winds up with her brainwashed and killing him finishing off what Crossbones started (Seeing Sharon and Crossbones share a scene together was skin crawling for all of it's future implications), then later thinking she's saving him by shooting his son - a child - in the throat will never not be UGH.

He didn't actually die so that point is moot.

I don't think it's moot at all. Actions count for something on their own, not just the eventual consequences which lets face it change and morph to a truly incredible degree in Comics. The contortions they went through for him to be alive would through out a gymnasts back.
