The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 3

I think people are way too harsh on films these days. Seems like everyone has an axe to grind about something with a film.
I love BvS. I love Snyders films and his style. MOS is the Superman film that I've always wanted and Batman is my favorite character and Snyder and him go hand in hand so I knew I'd like BvS to some extent. I believe we create our own flaws when it comes to viewing films. A flaw is something YOU dislike. There is no set rule. Its all subjective and there is only so much critical analysis you can do on a film before it becomes just BS.

Hello biggest BvS defender on the internet.
I agree SOMETIMES that a flaw can sometimes be the word we use to label some of our nitpicks, but it's not how it is with this movie.

I'm one of the few in this lounge who actually LOVES Man of Steel, I love almost all the Batman movies prior to 2016 (not a fan of Batman: Sub-Zero, I'd rather watch Batman & Robin 15 times in one sitting before watching that movie again), I enjoy all 5 Spider-Man movies, I enjoy the Fantastic Four movies from last decade, and some of my favorite comic book movies are 1990s films like Judge Dredd, The Phantom, The Shadow (I'd certainly call these misunderstood movies), The Rocketeer, and Men in Black.

But when someone like me, who enjoys the majority of comic book movies, hate a movie starring two of my favorite characters, and rather watch the live action Green Lantern last year's Fant4stic, and even the 90s silly Justice League pilot that is very hard to find these days....
I think there is more than one thing disturbingly bad about BvS, and it's not the fun kind of bad. I'd rather watch Street Fighter, DOA: Dead or Alive, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, The Green Hornet, The Three Musketeers (either the Disney movie or the 2011 one), those are entertainingly bad movies.

I think people are way too harsh on films these days.

And conversely, you have people who are so defensive and unquestioning of the things they're biased towards, that you know their statement "I think people are way too harsh on films these days" is really them saying "I think people are way too harsh on the films I have overwhelming devotion towards".

Meh. The pacing/editing of the UC isn't a trainwreck like the TC, but that doesn't mean the UC is watchable. It's still the same dreary, boring, pretentious film, TC or not. I see no point in giving the film another chance if you're in the same boat as The Joker or Spider-Aziz. All you'd be doing is wasting three more hours of your life on a movie you already dislike.
Im settling somewhere between a 50 and 60 percent. It's now too long, still dreary yes, and plotholes everywhere in the final act...but i do think it's now watchable. To me, it wasn't watchable as a film because of the editing and the ending with Doomsday. Other than Wonder Woman's introduction into the fight (which is one of the great moments of the movie), everything about that battle is unwatchable imo. Video game nonsense. And my opinion will never change with that. But for the most part, it now works as a movie. It no longer feels like a collection of scenes.

BatLobster, i would even watch an alternate cut of Batman and Robin and i hate that movie sober. There is flow in the UC, no doubt.

If some of you are so bored with it and aren't curious about the editing, then forget it. But if you liked a handful of scenes or more, and you're curious about filmmaking then i think it's worth the watch because i dont think the movie as a whole deserves to be s**t on as much as the Theatrical Cut. I wouldn't want that to be my only memory of the movie.

I dont think Batman and Snyder go hand in hand.

A flaw is not just something you dislike.

I don't remember this from the theatrical cut.

Is this Spider-Man dressed as Batman to lift the crate like that?

Spider-Man would never smash a guy's head in like that. See the blood stain on the wall?

I see it.
He'd sure use a crate to hit someone like Tarantula in the face, he can manage.
That strength.... it's inhuman.

Most of us do.
Love your avatar, and the homage to Brian Bolland's art.

If only the animated movie was done in those colors.

It's ruined by Batfleck killing a guy needlessly.

His fault for not ducking while his buddies dodged. :o
I don't hate that Batman kills a few thugs here and there, the first Tim Burton movie is still my favorite.

:pal:
There is the minimal chance he survived this attack.

If "Jimmy Olsen" can't survive a Zack Snyder movie, what chance is Thug #14 supposed to have? :oldrazz:

LMAO

@JustinTotino @JaredLeto @SuicideSquadWB @JamesMarsano did they really have to remind us of All Star Batman?

@pmocella13 @JaredLeto @SuicideSquadWB @JamesMarsano With how Batman was written for @BatmanvSuperman, they're at least comic accurate.

@JustinTotino @JaredLeto @SuicideSquadWB @JamesMarsano @BatmanvSuperman did he call anyone ******ed in the movie?

@pmocella13 @JaredLeto @SuicideSquadWB @JamesMarsano @BatmanvSuperman Not yet, but there is time. #JusticeLeague isn't out yet.

Haha.

I actually like his look in the movie for the most part. At first I was quite surprised as it was not what I expected at all. When I started to see images of Leto shooting the movie, that is when my opinion changed. I still don't like the "Damaged" tattoo though.

Just when I was starting to warm up to the look of Leto-Joker....
