The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 7

Good times. I remember when I had to download a cam version of this from youtube.

I don't remember all that **** from the first half though. Maybe I am mis-remembering. It's been nine years.

There are a couple shots from that that aren't in the film, namely the shot of the tumbler in the bunker and the caged bat-suit (which I think was reused for Rises). The color grading looks incomplete as well. The images are more washed out than in the final product.

I think the Joker walking with his machine gun might be a different take too.

So who's seen Logan? Word is its one of the best CBMs ever. Some even saying the best since TDK.

85 percent from me. Could go a bit higher or stay the same with a second viewing. Good film. But it's not a masterpiece. I have a feeling you guys will love it more than I did. I always have problems with the continuity in this franchise, and I had mixed feelings about the ending and how it got to that point. Go see it though!

Logan definitely deserves to be on the same playing field as TDK and Winter Soldier. I loved it.

I also love the fact that Logan proves the DCEU fans wrong again about everything.

Halfway through they had to pause the movie because a man was having a heart attack. True story.

5/5 The Dark Knight
4.5/5 Civil War, Batman Begins, Dark Knight Rises, Spider-Man 2.
4/5 Winter Soldier, Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy (need to revisit, could bump it down).
3.5/5 Batman, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Days of Future Past (haven't seen the Rogue Cut).

LOGAN is somewhere between 4 and 4.5 for me, as of now.

Logan is better than anything we've gotten from the MCU and of course the DCEU. Not meant to be an insult, it's just the best thing we've gotten since TDK. This movie made me feel things I've never felt in a cbm. A gut wrencher.

Marvel and DC playing each other in connect four and Fox is out here playing 4D chess!

I disagree. I enjoyed Civil War more, and I'm a bit biased with the entire TDK trilogy because of my experiences with those films and my love for Batman is stronger than Wolverine.

X-men was the first big cbm and Im probably partial to that as well.

I've waited my whole life for this wolverine movie. Before 2012, captain America and the rest of the avengers were a joke to me. That's changed since then, but the nostalgic feeling always gets me.

My marvel was always: X-Men, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher and Hulk mostly. Anything with those has my heart.

I loved Logan. Best comic movie experience in a theatre since The Dark Knight Rises.

It had me hooked the minute it started.

Yeah I could've worded it better, but it was for me. It's the first big CBM experience i had

They said everything was fine 5 minutes after the guy exited the theater but who knows really.

The fact that 5 minutes went by while the entire theater was distracted...
literally the point in the film where Logan is burying Charles and then having a freakout
, maybe that had to do with why I wasnt reacting to the end in the way you guys were. I mean 5 minutes go by, they then pause the movie for 5 mins. Then they rewind it for us, so maybe some momentum was lost for me. I really need to see it again but I'll wait until the Blu Ray so I don't risk any interruptions.

I quite enjoyed Logan, very grounded, very gritty but entertaining.

Also, anyone else feel like the last shot of the movie is kinda like what Terrio/Snyder were trying to do with the Martha moment except done well? "Oh this thing is like that thing if you look at it this way".

As others have said, Logan is the best superhero movie experience I've had since TDKR, and I'll go so far as to say it is better than TDKR. I disagree with those who say it's better than TDK (a flawless movie to me whereas Logan has a few microscopic issues, most of which revolve around [blackout]X-24[/blackout]), but it is GREAT.

It is a rich, complete cinematic experience. It really engages me emotionally in a way no superhero movie has, and breaks my heart in the best sense by the end. All of the acting is top notch, with the three leads being worthy of Oscar nominations (I'd also love to see it nominated for Best Picture, though none will likely be recognized), and it has a disturbingly topical undercurrent about our current political times.

I need to see this one again.

It's as great as everyone says. A true, character driven and "adult" superhero movie. Not without flaws, but the good outweighs them SO much.
