My wife likes that Gadot has the accent....says it adds to the ancient world vibe that WW belongs to.

Her accent is perfect. It's her delivery that sucks. Zero dynamics in her acting.

Yeah Gal's got that classic Israeli accent. Her line delivery has been kind of hit and miss.

If Wonder Woman ends up being a failure or at least, mildly underperforms, I expect WB's executive team to be replaced with new heads. Also, it should also tell WB to just stop making DC movies until they can get their act together.

I bet they're really missing the days of the Nolan films right about now.

Weird breach of exhibitor protocol. In any event, I heard the exact opposite. Not good.

Wonder Woman: exciting & entertaining in every way. Great SFX and characters. Here's a summer blockbuster as good as Captain America ($370M)

Mind you, Peter S. Hall claims that he heard that WW is good, but he is a senior editor at Fandango, so he has an interest in selling lots of WW tickets.

We discussed before how WB might burst the bubble without knowing, but they might especially ruin female superhero films in general. Wonder Woman isn't an ordinary film, it's 1) the first major superheroine film and 2) the first time a female director received that kind of budget in Hollywood. A lot of people in these studios (like Ike Perlmutter, for example) think female-led films can't do well, so they'll especially be keeping an eye on this. If Captain Marvel didn't come out next year, this could have potentially set them back a few years.

Granted unless Captain Marvel gets a female director too, it don't see how the second problem can get solved. From what I read, Patty Jankins showed the same level of passion for Wonder Woman that Donner showed for Superman. So first of all it would suck for her that WB put this film on her resume, but also for incoming female directors in general.

I got more faith in the Captain Marvel movie than this Wonder Woman movie... which is something I thought it would never say before the DCEU.

Heard more good buzz on WONDER WOMAN. It's telling to see how relieved people are when they say they like it. "Oh, thank god."

Yeah I heard good buzz about Suicide Squad as well..

We just have to wait and see. I remember Drew Mcweeny saying how he heard great things about Eisenberg's Lex.

Early buzz is always positive for these movies. Take with a grain of salt.

Wow, just got back from Guardians. This is just my gut impression, it may change, but I think it may be my favorite Marvel film so far. Hope I'm not getting people's hopes too high when I say that.

This movie, in essence, feels like two things.

First, it feels as if James Gunn went through the whole internet and wrote a list of all the complaints people have with the Marvel movies - they don't have enough emotion, the tone is the same, too many setups, no good villains - and then said "Alright, let's see what we can do here." I got really emotional at several points throughout the film. Not counting Logan, it's the most emotional experience I had with a comic book film since Xavier's arc in DOFP and the ending to TASM2.

Second, it's Age of Ultron done right. Whedon initially planned for it to be "smaller" and more character-driven, but it eventually evolved into a rehash of the first film (not in terms of story, but you know what I mean). This doesn't. It has the charm of the first one (even moreso IMO), but also a tighter script - as if they just knew they had to rely on a lot more this time.

Really hope it holds up on a second viewing. It would break my heart if it doesn't.

Iron Fist might end up being my favorite of the Netflix MCU shows.

Outdated effects or with modern effects for these four in their youth?

But it's so bad.
Six episodes in and it's pretty decent, less action than the earlier four seasons and more focus on the supporting cast, but it's not really as bad as reputed to be.
I read things get better as the show progresses after episode 6, that's the current length I covered.

Pfft, Snyder's JL is gonna be where it's at come November.
