First Roger Moore and then Adam West. And I thought last year was rough. When I think of Batman, West was always the one I thought of first. RIP

Re: CBM fatigue

I felt that for a short time, right around the time when Iron Fist was released on Netflix. It's why I put off watching it until two weeks after it was released. However, once I finished it, I was quite glad I brought myself to watch it and with the release of the Black Panther teaser, I was so giddy that I can't wait to see it!

Whatever fatigue I might have felt is no longer there. I guess I'm easily impressed by what modern movie technologies can accomplish.

CBMs (and Star Wars) are basically the only things keeping blockbusters afloat for me right now. Just look at all the other disasters Hollywood is putting out week after week, The Mummy, Ghost in the Shell, Baywatch, the new Alien movie, Power Rangers, etc. Without CBMs it is largely a wasteland.

I am terrified that Stan the Man Lee's celestial elevation is just around the corner too. ****. It's gonna be a global tragedy.

Honestly, I've been preparing myself for the idea that guys like Stan Lee, Sean Connery, etc. will probably pass on within the next five years.

I thought the same thing about Adam West when Roger Moore died, I just didn't expect him to die two weeks later.

I'm still hoping one day we can get all the actors who've played Batman to do a photoshoot together. And I hope it's sooner than later because Adam West is getting up there in age.

:csad:

I really thought Adam would get into his 90's. :csad:

He had a full, rich life and I think deep down he knew he was loved by millions. Better to be remembered for one great thing, than to be remembered for nothing.

He lived to see the 50th anniversary, the show's overall resurgence in popularity, get a star on the Walk of Fame and be apart of the show's home video release.

Still, we'll all miss him.

RIP Mr. West. For a lot of people, particularly in my parent's generation, he was the thing that pushed Batman into the mainstream. To them he was Batman for all intents and purposes.

The upsetting news made me happy I chose to start my Batman movie marathon with his movie, and enjoying every little bit of it.

I'll miss the old chum.

No amount of nitpicks, contrarian hot takes, or thinly veiled naysaying will change the simple fact that The Dark Knight is one of the best American movies of the 21st century.

....I'm not gonna lie....I do think that most TDK criticism nowadays basically amounts to the bolded.

I used to watch the 1966 Batman when I was a teen but once I hit 18, I completely lost interest and to this day, I find the show embarrassing to watch. That said, it's popularity and influence on Batman lore is undeniable and truly, Adam West seemed like a really good human being.

R.I.P.

That show never gets old for me, or less watchable.

If that's what I meant then that's what I would have said.
