I loved that first shot. You can see the little nuances on the face. It seems they've preserved Brolin's acting with great accuracy.
A big criticism of ours is that we focus on the heroes more than the villains, I think thats probably true. I dont think it will always be true. [...] Thanos in 'Infinity War'... is in a movie that has a lot of characters, you could almost go so far as to say he is the main character, and thats a bit of a departure from what weve done before, but that was appropriate for a movie called 'Infinity War
The scope and tone of the trailer are definitely promising. I know the movie will have more humor, but I really hope they get the balance right here. This is a pretty rare opportunity they have on their hands.
I don't agree that they were serious. The tone was balanced.Winter Soldier was advertised as serious and it was. Civil War was also serious, except the Perter Parker and the airport scene. It was mostly dour and serious every other scene. With the climax being the darkest of all of MCU.

I think it's exactly because of the tone of the climax that they went for a lighthearted tone in the middle. And it's superheroes beating each other up. If that doesn't activate someone's inner kid I don't know what does.I'm thinking mostly of Iron Man 3 and AoU where there was a bit of misleading advertising in terms of tone. You're right though, it hasn't really been as much of problem for the Russos' films- although I was a bit letdown by how the airport scene was played more for fun and laughs when there was a lot of dramatic potential there. The climax helped make up for it though.

An individual with deep knowledge of the studio said Silverman didnt read offer notes on Snyders scripts. Another described Silvermans attitude as remarkably laissez faire.
