I'm glad Elfman's using old themes....mainly because people act like it can't ever be done at all, even though James Bond has rebooted, and is still using the same theme song from the 60's.
Hiya Bats, it's been a while.

Also, Batfleck doesn't deserve that theme. :oldrazz:

Oh, I'm in complete agreement with this, but I do think it shouldn't be taboo to use old themes. More than anything, I wish Elfman would bring back his Flash theme.

Hey, Aziz. Indeed, it has.

Question: What was the response to that article where Johns talks about how they basically didn't listen to him while making MOS and BvS?

Yup, that's the one.

A great article that explains so much.

The response from DCEU hardcores? Anger that Snyder was "thrown under the bus". They were in meltdown mode for a good 2 days.

They aren't really going to have Batfleck use the Keaton theme, are they?

That's going to be awkward as hell, lol.

It's the DCEU. Their stupidity knows no bounds at this stage.

I’m totally fine with it.

They need the audience on their side, if they have to do some pandering then so be it.

It’ll still be a cool moment for me, getting to hear that theme on the big screen.

Not sure why you’d ignore either Nolan or Johns. One is responsible for the best DC film ever made and the other is responsible for some of the best DC comics ever written but sure, let the writer/director of Suckerpunch have full control of the DC cinematic universe.

He's also one of the people in charge of the CW DCTV, which is not fabulous.

I don't find Johns' work to be some of the best DC comics ever written. DC has had some BRILLIANT comics. Johns' best work is...enjoyable. He can't touch Morrison, Waid, Moore, Lemire, Snyder, Brubaker, and several others, imo.

But yes, he does understand and love the characters for who they are - as opposed to how they could be made "relevant" for today's audience - so for the purposes he's currently serving with the DCEU, I think he's somebody they should be listening to.

It’s been a while since I’ve read any comics but Johns’ run on Green Lantern was a favorite of mine in high school. There’s still a part of me so disappointed that the 2011 film sucked so hard.

If you do read modern comics of this decade, you're better off reading stuff like The Walking Dead, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and stuff from indie publishers that have no compacted continuity of decades hindering their storytelling.

Who cares about what Johns did in the comics. With movies he's the worst.

Yeah some people are better with comics than movies. Look at Frank Miller.

Who else thought Ragnarok was average? Funny moments for sure, but same old b.s as far as I'm concerned. Same problems with the villain, not letting a genuine moment last because they need to wink at the audience, too much green screen, comic relief characters that take it too far, overplaying a old hit song. I mean, I thought this was supposed to be different for the MCU and maybe even the genre as a whole. That's all I kept hearing before I saw it. Nope.

I hope Black Panther changes it up.

Some of his crap is entertaining, it's obvious crap, but it entertains me. I'm thinking mostly RoboCop 3 and The Spirit.

It will probably be passed down to the next movie, and the one that follows, and further.

My only hope for the DCEU is Matt Reeves' solo Batman film. But even then, that might be closer to a one-off or self-contained story, and might not have any real bearing on the quality of the DCEU going forward.

I was just looking at the trailers for JL and I honestly can't understand how this has gotten so out of hand. The movie looks like pure green screen. And bringing Wheadon on board has shifted the tone more in favor of the MCU and not in a good way. Everything just comes across as so forced in the snippets of the film so far. You can tell Affleck has completely checked out.

I was hoping WW would be the start of them turning this ship around, but it looks like they are back at square one again with this mess.

Did you see the latest Aquaman/Bruce clip? They cut it up obviously but holy crap I was laughing so hard at the awful dialogue. This movie is going to be a TRAINWRECK. I can't expect a good performance with dialogue like that.

They're even holding back Twitter reactions. This is going to be so fun for us in this thread.

I'm hoping for at least some scenes to be good with Diana and the Flash. If the movie makes me laugh like chunks of Ragnarok did, then at least there's that to hold onto lol. But wow..did Chris Terrio write this?

The writer of Gran Torino moved on to write the RoboCop reboot and the Judge. Chris Terrio seems to be taking a similar trip by writing one strong script, and two underwhelming ones....

Maybe they should bring in Josh Trunk or Max Landis to work with Chris Terrio, it's a match to make crappy movies.

The new clip with Bruce and Alfred has some good writing IMO.
