There should just be a Bash Snyder BvS sub forum somewhere :o

I honestly think the best course of action would have been for WB to issue a press release announcing that Justice League had been delayed in order to give themselves time to re-evaluate their approach. Reiterate that they are committing to providing a shared universe experience on-par with Marvel Studios, and that they felt this delay will allow them a better opportunity to live up to that commitment.

There is no shame in admitting that something didn't live up to your expectations, so long as you follow that up with a definitive course of action. As a fan and as a movie-goer, I'd appreciate the sincerity.

You've got SS and WW coming out in the next year. Fast-track The Batman to meet a Q3/Q4 2017 release. You can buy yourselves 2-3 years to iron out the creases while still giving people a decent supply of DC films.

It may cause shareholders to throw a fit, but I'm honestly not sure what's worse. Pissing shareholders off by delaying JL for a year or two, or moving forward with Snyder and an overall vision for this shared universe that simply is not clicking with people. You piss shareholders off now, but at least give yourself a chance to right the ship. If they continue with Snyder, and his JL releases to a similar critical/financial response? You're beyond pissing off shareholders. You're losing your job. And the whole thing is just completely, properly ****ed.

And the thought of executives micro-managing Snyder doesn't fill me with confidence at all. It actually sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I really like your thoughts on this. I would not mind waiting a couple more years for a JL movie that I could actually get excited about. Sometimes it's better to just admit a mistake and change direction.

Dam I have just seen Civil War and wow I thought I hated this movie but you come out of Civil war with a relight fire of hatred for this movie. The whole time while watching Civil War I was frustrated and angry because yet again Marvel has done it. A great entertaining movie with emotional weight behind it, characters you actually give a dam about and can hail as heroes. Hey and guess what guys both Cap and Iron mans views can be argued for and against, there is no one side is right and the other is wrong (Batman)as the Russos drop a compelling argument for both sides. New introduced characters were awesome.......(Black Panter stole the show I personally didn't feel anything from Wonder Woman's introduction but Black Panter is amazing and now I can't wait for his and Spideys solo movies). Anyway rant over Snyder has got to go.

Keeping Snyder on board is absolutely madness, as much as I enjoyed Batman v Superman. Having said that, I do have some form of sick curiosity to see how far this trainwreck can go.

Directors are running scared of the DCU except for Affleck lol

Sometimes it's better to just admit a mistake and change direction.

But what if admitting you made that mistake could cause shareholders to lose confidence in your product?

WB is in a world of hurt right now, and it's going to be a few years before they get out of it.

I recommend you guys check out "Death of Superman Lives" if you haven't already. It was a series of bombs (beginning with Batman & Robin) that prevented us from getting Tim Burton's Superman movie (amongst other issues).

See, the problem with these haters is that they don't understand Snyder's interpretation of fun. They can't let go of their own preconceived notions about fun, and that's why it went over their heads. :sly:

:pcg::bow::funny::funny::funny:

Not a convenient time to remove him right now. They made their bed.

Your probably right but I think I speak for a lot of fans (maybe not) when I say that if a change was made now and WB proved to me they are trying to right the ship, I would be back on board the excited train for the JL. The hurt doesn't have to last a couple more years, right?

I see what you're saying, but if the wheels are already in motion for these properties, then that means, most likely, a sizeable portion of money has already been put into it.

Basically, WB has a gun to their head. They can't back out of JL due to the investment that has already been put into it, and the expectation that it will be successful by their investors.

The worst mistake WB made was giving the keys to the city to Snyder after Man of Steel only received lukewarm reviews.

The DCEU, I'm sad to say, is looking like it may be the SW Prequel trilogy of this era. That is, a cashgrab from general audiences using properties that they know will put butts in the seats.

I do think there's a degree of Phantom Menacing going on here.

Is it bad that I think "Save Martha" is worse than "Now this is pod racing"

Someone should change their username to Martha

Do you guys think Snyder has done irreparable damage to this franchise? I have read on a number of forums people saying the damage is already done and it's to late.

Here's some of the things citied.

Killing of Clark Kent.

Making Lex aware of who Batman and Superman are.

Destroying Supermans character and personality( basically stating it would seem out of character for this Superman to start acting like his usual hopeful optimistic self).

Batman killing people feels this creates more problems as to why most of his rogue gallery are not dead. Or how will he be able to take the morale high ground with Red hood if he is ever introduced.

Damage to Pa Kent character.

Damage to Thomas Wayne character.

Etc......

Irreparable? Time heals all wounds.

Unless it goes the way of the Highlander franchise, where they just keep ruining it, over and over.

That's a good question. To be honest, I don't know. Killing Clark Kent is a big one for me and I don't see a way out of that one. The character aspect I can go along with if they correct it with a soft reboot (need to get rid of Zack) of some sort but you are right, there is a lot of damage that has already been done.
There is no chance for redemption if Zacks involved though.

None of that matters imo.

If they really want to bring back 'Clark Kent' (which I don't think they need to), they can. Sure, it'd be nonsensical, but such is the case with Clark's secret identity in general. They could just make a joke about it and move on.

But wouldn't that make the entire ending to BvS somewhat pointless?
