We know most(if not all) of the MOS filming took place during TDKR filming/post.

It was obvious to most. Nolan had nothing to do after hiring Snyder.

This may be true, but wasn't he part of the ideas and writing the script? That counts for...something...I think.

None of the Nolan bat movies got the treatment, even non-junketeers had to wait until the movie actually released to watch both TDK and TDKR. Granted, TDK and TDKR didn't need the positive word of mouth, if WB and Syncopy feel that this is a good way to get the ball rolling on word of mouth - good for them. For more recent movies, most critics are not going to be watching "Star Trek Into Darkness" until after its US release (release on Wednesday 8pm, Critics shows are at Wednesday 9pm).

"Into Darkness" has already premiered and is coming out in a lot of places this week. We already have a lot of reviews from critics on RT. Fans have seen it already.

I don't even understand your point. It is literally less then 24 hours before the Wal-Mart screenings.

that is still way before Snyder was hired

It CAN. :O

I asked for it!

Every once in a while, I like to come here to express how hyped up I am for this movie. This is one of those times :woot:. I haven't been this excited for a CBM in a long while. As I said before, this looks like it will be the perfect CBM and before anyone brings this up, perfect CBM =/= the best CBM. The perfect CBM means the CBM that has the perfect blend between all the great elements found in CBM's. MOS looks like it will be just that, but me saying that is not the same thing as saying that it will be better than TDK.

However, I am also worried to an extent that it will suck or at least very disappointing compared to what it could be. I was so hyped up for TDKR that I couldn't believe it was written by Nolan and Goyer even weeks after I saw it, and Iron Man 3 has made me lose my trust in marketing and advertising almost completely. Basically, these 2 movies have done things that I thought would be the very last things to ever happen. Due to that, I can't even say that this film will most likely be great. How do we know Zod isn't a Kryptonian actor hired by Faora? Or that Krypton does indeed survive? These things are just as likely as, for example, Mandarin being the official villain in IM3 was.

LA Film Fest opens on June 13th, which means that the "Man of Steel" screening will be on June 12th. A good move signifying that at least the studio is confident in the movie to allow non-critics to watch it prior to release.

The actual website with a nice Cavill as Superman from the EW photoshoot as a headline banner:

That's not the only one, there was also this though a day later:

Man of Steel Set to Open Taormina Festival:

What's with film festivals opening with MOS? Did someone saw it and like it enough to let it open the festival?:hmm

Still, having it in writing from the word of Cavill is a good thing.

Didn't Nolan said it himself?

I seem to recall an interview with him saying something about how Snyder is the one who should get all the credit and how little involvement he had.

this movie will be good...because it's the first one.
The second one will make stupid, crazy money
The third one will disappoint you

Yeah this is all Snyder's direction. It still kinda saddens me that there will be people who will bash Snyder if MoS fails but will probably praise only Nolan if MoS does really well.

Yes, but certain Nolan fans chalked it up to Nolan being 'humble'. :whatever:

Nolan really shoud just get a small nod, but they are putting Nolan's name on it everywhere, because it will help the movie sell! that is why I think MOS does 100M OW+

MOST all credit should go to Zack S.

Regardless of how much Nolan contributed, you can be sure WB want to big up his role to the casual audience as much as possible...and yes it's the smart and right thing to do.

synder and goyer. Nolan should get credit for an idea/hiring synder/marketing with his name. That is all

Without a doubt that's why they are putting his name out there. It is indeed smart marketing.

Nolan was the one who had the pull with WBs for that am very grateful

dang Gatsby is at 38% on RT (26R) 27% Top Critic. now we know why Gatsby was pushed back. lol.
if MOS does this, chaos will insue, and everyone loses their minds.

The opening of trailer 2 in December shows Clark in the water. Is the current thinking that the oil rig does explodes from trailer 3 sending him flying into the water ?

Dicaprio's "Great Gatsby" was going to suck anyways there was no need for them to redo The Great Gatsby after how successful Robert Redford's Great Gatsby did and has been.

Without Nolan, this film in it's current iteration wouldn't exist, end of story. However in the end, the buck always stops at the director...fail or succeed it's all on Snyder, and if this really kicks off at the BO, then Snyder will likely be able to make whatever passion project he wants (as long as it's not like Sucker Punch)...Just like Shane Black has easily slipped away into making Doc Savage after scoring big with IM3.

My question is...if this truly does work out, would they ask Nolan and Goyer to godfather another superhero property like Green Lantern or Wonder Woman?

I really REALLY hope Gatsby will be one of the few films i disagree with the majority of the critics on, but 38%...ouch. How bad could it be, the trailers were fantastic and the book is amazing.
