And I have always thought Lex was at his best when he was behind the scenes pulling the strings!! It makes sense to me. The man is a genius why would he get his hands dirty. Make him the big CEO or the Pres doesn't matter to me. He can be the one of main villains for a sequel, controlling Metallo or plotting with Braniac!

Im actually willing to bet that if this movie is a success they already know which way they are going.

I'm not entirely sure why, but I find this image particularly chilling.

Because this a friendly small town that isn't used to dealing with high threats, especially intergalactic ones. You can kind of see Kal-El's perspective, they are like ants who have had their nest kicked over. And he must fight for them.

I say do at the very least MOS2 next, have lex a prominent public figure, whether that be businessman, politician, etc, but have him pulling the strings for whoever the villain is in part 2. After lex is exposed, and the public trusts him for exposing lex, have superman look to put together a Justice league to protect the people at the end of that movie. Then you can set up JL for between MOS2 and MOS3.

IDK even after writing that I dont know how I really feel about it lol.

I'd prefer Lex to NOT be exposed. I'd prefer Superman to get the evidence but for the evidence to go missing somehow. :D

If you did that he could be in sequel after sequel in some shape or form. I would be down for that!

Nam-ek; a kryptonian that was bio-engineered to be that tall and strong; only takes orders, and mentioned in being the deadliest of Zod's soldiers.

who also curiously appears in Kara's prequel comic. in Kara's scout training group, she calls one of the fellow scouts, Nam-Ek.

plus Dev-Em is in Kara's group and crashed with her on Earth. So two names, Dev-Em and Nam-Ek, associated with Zod's insurgency........

make that of what you will.......

Yeah I was thinking about that too, but I'd guess at some point supes has to defeat lex and expose him. You'd think they'd want to raise the stakes for each subsequent film so if the baddie in the the 3rd film is so big it may not play out to well to worry about lex in that film. But who knows not exposing him, that could work too. Or maybe even expose lex in JL or WF. IDK haha

in the sequel, have Lex create Metallo, which would also be a good way to introduce Kryptonite.

however, given the scale and amount of **** that goes down in this film, you have to imagine just how they will be able to top it in a sequel.

would Metallo alone be enough to do that??

Heard that the official review embargo date is June 10th. Makes sense, the world premiere is on the same day. I wonder who will be the first to post their review, for TDKR IIRC it was Drew McWeeny whose review went live exactly at midnight.

The "trouble" is if you make the scale BIGGER, than it would have to go grander and grander, IE Braniac in MOS2-Mongol-Darkseid.

I'd want a "quieter movie" to space out the BIG MOVIE installments of the franchise. Not a lot, just one.

A smaller scale sequel can develop the character(s) and allow the themes to kind of come together. A big scale sequel can do that to, but I think more could be lost in translation.

Yeah that's good and all, but if MOS really does get everyone's attention, the GA is going to want something bigger not to regress back to a quiet superman movie. IDK it could be tricky.

Gah thats years away!!

Exactly I can't wait to see how Avengers turns out with this approach.

I would add one more villain, not as big, but another one with some powers; maybe Parasite?

Plus, things don't exactly always have to be BIGGER in order to be better.

When you think about it, TDK wasn't exactly BIGGER in terms of the threat level that BB presented. Ra's wanted to decimate and destroy Gotham in a controlled manner so that it could be rebuilt with a fresh start.

The Joker on the other hand was unleashing several terrorist-like attacks all over Gotham, but his plan was to never destroy Gotham, at least, not externally.

I think it's all about execution really and not so much the size of the threat. Plus, it also has to feel more personal for the character as well.

You can still have a "quiet superman movie" and have good action. Imagine having a scene in which the journalist opens up his chest, revealing the Kryptonite core. Superman doubles over, while Metallo WHALES on him, his hand turning into a buzzsaw, Superman breathes frost breath on his opponent, causing his opponent to rust, but Metallo activates his jetpack, dragging a weakened Superman along, who pushes on his foes head into the ground. He's about to save the day, when a stranger in a silhouette shoots him in the back with a kryptonite bullet. And then he crawls around, pulling the shards out like a boss, but at this point, he is bleeding. He manages to cauterize one wound with his heat vision, but needs special care for another wound before passing out. Lane finds him.

Oh gosh.. I hope they'll never ever use Kryptonite in any superman movies.. it's such a cop out... It's like taking out your cross to frighten off vampires...

I see what you're saying. It can work. I just see it as Zod and co are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to other worldly beings. Then again they can save those questions and conflicts for MOS3 or JL/WF.

^^^^^^^^Interesting. Again As I have said before I dont have the creativity to think up anything like that. Just make Superman punch things and give me a decent story to follow and I'm set. I know its not educated but come on the man is Super. I want to see him uppercut the hell out of someone then race up after them and follow that with a 2 fisted hammer punch sending them 100 ft below ground level creating an aftershock that levels 3 to 4 buildings!! And on that note that's it for me today peeps. Its 8 am here and I have got to get to bed! Stay Classy!!

you ever heard of this concept called lying? Snyder also said Zod wasn't the villain of the movie and look who the villain of the movie is...

I don't think he says the "Kneel before Zod" line in the film personally.

I wonder if they'll mention other worlds besides Krypton and Earth. The kryptonians obviously know about earth. Safe to assume they know about other worlds with life? In one of the set reports I think it was mentioned

Jonathan Kent has been researching ufo sitings and other type of mysterious activity

Could be interesting.
