How would they know how to create synthetic Kryptonite without the existence of actual Kryptonite?

If it wasn't irradiated, Lex/STAR Labs could always try experimenting by changing properties of Krypton's rocks.

It'd actually be cool if they created synthetic Kryptonite. Not implausible, all they'd have to do is work out the chemical composition.

Me too that would be pretty cool. Who would create it though, Batman? Dr Hamilton is chilling out with Faora and Colonel Hardy in the Phantom Zone. Lex perhaps.

Indeed, it would be a nice way to flaunt STAR Labs or showcase Lex Luthor's genius level knowledge (and at the same time, make a drastic departure from the old Lex Luthors).

Luthor I'd imagine would be the one. Frankly it would be a good move because it would then keep Superman on his toes. Suddenly if Kryptonite is able to be created in the lab he's not nearly as powerful, it actually means he'll have to work harder. It makes Kryptonite a genuine obstacle.

Yeah I mentioned Lex but I don't think where getting a scientist Lex if we go by what Goyer said in the lead up to MOS when he was discussing the Easter eggs. He said it won't be the Gene Hackman version but more like a Bill Gates style in which he has $50,60billion.

There is musing about Lex Luthor, conversations that Zack and I have had on set, but it all depends on what happens over the next month. There are obviously those Lexcorp easter eggs in the film and clearly you can see from that, to the extent to which we can intuit things about Lex, it’s not the Gene Hackman version. This is a Bill Gates-like Lex that is probably worth 50, 60, 70 billion dollars. It’s a very different Lex.

Maybe not the mad scientist Luthor, but I'd be very surprised if they didn't emphasize the intellect in Lex Luthor (Bill Gates is also pretty damn smart for revolutionizing the computer industry the way he did).

If another Justice League hero is cast, lets say The Flash. Would you like to see Ryan Reynolds reprise his role as Green Lantern in this movie if it turns out to be The Justice League?

Regardless of what this film is being considered as, I'd say that they should stay away from associating themselves with Ryan's version of GL.

That film was just..pure crap imho, and this new DCU shouldn't get associated with it.

Ryan Reynolds should play Green Lantern in everything. Ever. Even Twelve Angry Men.

Reynolds should play The Flash. And Green Lantern.

What are you talking about? There is Kryptonite in the MOS Universe.

Yep!

Goyer talked about being on the MOS set a lot and doing some rewrites while they were shooting.

Yep. That type of thing happens. Scene rewrites during the production and filming probably happen more often than not.

in 4D too. :o
That would look too much like the first Thor movie (minus the laughter).
No, forget what I just said. No rom-com and no sit-com!!!
Instead, have B vs S (+ WW) be a musical by Lloyd-Webber. Just imagine the heroes' powerful singing voices, and all the crazy choreography when they fly and dance (and jump from rooftops), everything at the same time.

They said that Lex Luthor would be a billionaire that's obsessed with fringe science.

Kryptonite is the ultimate tool of lazy writers, so I hope they avoid it.

Also, this universe doesn't need it. They already have the Kryptonian atmospheric composition.

How do we know for sure that it's Kryptonite? We don't know if the explosion irradiated the rocks, or if they might use synthetic Kryptonite.

How could it not be irradiated. The implosion of the planets core created a neutron star.

How about an island of Kryptonite? :D

Btw. 110% agree. Hope we don't get the lazy writer...

I'm pretty sure that this was not in the movie.

I need to correct myself they said pulsar not neutron.

It's only lazy if you use it that way. As long as exposure to Kryptonite doesn't turn him into a completely useless invalid. It should weaken him. He should become slower and more sluggish. His skin should become more vulnerable and break when it comes into contact with lower level attacks. It should be almost like he's fighting with the flu.
