When people talk about Hanckman's Lex, I always feel like saying he's not a mad scientist in the first two movies; he's simply a very smart criminal who excels at criminal things. Only the fourth film actually featured any mad scientist hijinks on his part. Even SR's Lex Luthor only got his big evil plan when the Jor-El program explained things to him.

The idea of him being a billionaire interested in fringe science seems more mad scientist to me, since fringe science implies stuff like cloning, nanotechnology, or reverse engineering alien technology, all of which sounds a hell of a lot more involved and crazy than hijacking missiles or figuring out "drop crystal in water, watch it grow!"

And kryptonite needs to be something rare and small. If you established there was one pound in existence in our galaxy and made it clear that Lex has to fight to get ahold of it and being conservative in its use, you can make it much less of a cheat. Especially if its energy properties are arguably more powerful than its lethal radiation. And I like the idea of it slowly making him weaker and in extreme pain. as opposed to instantly removing his powers.

I would be nice if different amounts of the stuff has more or less of an effect on him. Like an couple of ounces of Kryptonite would make him dizzy and physically uncomfortable but he still could function but several pounds of Kryptonite could completely incapacitate or kill him under its own power. Just make the smaller chucks easier to come across and the larger chucks of Kryptonite rare.

I agree also can't be having kryptonite in every corner shop. it needs to be very rare and only a handful of people have or can get access to it.

Yes that's pretty much what I had in mind. Government you would class as Checkmate having it and maybe General Lane/military.

I hope they reintroduce Project Cadmus in the MOS universe as the government agency that task to study Superman and other Super Human threats. I don't want it to die with the Green Lantern franchises.

Upon thinking about it for a while now, I really hope they don't talk about the issue of Superman killing Zod either that much or at all. Regardless, we all know why he did it, and it was a good reason. By making that the reason why people are watching him, or why Batman is in it, backs them into a corner where there will be many explanations or feelings toward something, when in fact a) Superman didn't kill anybody in MOS except for Zod, again because there wasn't any other choice, and b) because of the realistic setting they're set in, it will eventually beg the question many fans and audiences will ask which is, "what does it mean for threats where prison, no matter how advanced, is just not an answer and the causalities are too much that you have no choice BUT to kill the bad guy?". See what I mean? I guess the way they can do it is by having Superman NOT kill Luthor, but someone like Doomsday, Parasite even, or if Atomic Skull appears, Superman may have to do it. That could also be something Superman points out to people, saying he is no executioner to "fix" people's problems; not a weapon, but a person of this planet. Just monsters, not people. That's what I really hope for.

I just got to think of a threat big enough for the League to fight, and it comes from greek mythology: the giant Typhon!!!

Well, either that or the rise of the titans (Kronos, Atlas etc)

The question becomes all the more interesting one one considers if batman would be alive today had superman not made his decision.

Yes, because he undoubtedly invented the Bat Anti-Zod Sphere!

It was funny when Lex had Otis murdered by Bizzaro after about five minutes of meeting him in the new 52 comics :woot:

No one who calls themselves a genius would put up with having an idiot like that around for long.

They could do an Otis like the one from Young Justice. He didn't seem like an idiot.

It depends on your audience. Neil had a fit over Gravity. :funny: The GA loved it.

Neil actually really enjoyed Gravity.

Then there won't be a Metallo villain! :csad:

Are you really sure that's what you want?

well, I can make exception for Metallo, wouldn't mind if Lex hired Deadshot or Deathstroke and provided them with a small amount of kryptonite though.

Dead here, Death there :oldrazz:

Just have Penguin as the Gotham villain!

Not sure which batman you are talking about. There is this guy

Then there's this other guy(thought bubbles are key)

People often mistake the two in a dismissing matter but, safe to say, anti-zod sphere might be more appropriate for the former.

So if Batman really does end up using Drones as a means of watching the world and carrying out his business as the caped crusader, would it make sense if he ends up putting them offline permanently at the end after the events of the film, where he most likely ends up trusting Superman?

Nah I think he'll still use the drones when he needs to.

Is this Drone thing confirmed by the way?

Agreed.

Eh. I'm fine either way. If they acknowledge it, they can explore the consequences of that action and create a really compelling storyline. If they don't, I can keep on ignoring that it happened. Win/win. :o

I would love to see that.

Superman would probably get his ass kicked, but it would make for a good scene nevertheless. :awesome:

Sure, why not?

Better to call it fantasy if there is no science in it.

Coming up with complex explanations to nonsense is also an intrinsically bad idea.

"Science Fiction" is Fantasy as far as I'm concerned.

In science fiction, much of the concepts expressed within a specific narrative are actually attainable. That is, they often make sense to some degree within proposed laws of time and space. Such isn't always the case (time travel, for instance, will likely never happen), but it's generally the rule.

Fantasy, in contrast, isn't bound by any real constraints at all.

As for comic book movies, they appear to blend elements from both genres. It's still a work in progress.

They are rebuilding the Kent farm.

I just found out about the working title, dunno if anyone posted it yet, but it is "Crown City Pictures." So if you're living in an area where you get a film permit (Detroit, Vancouver, Toronto) about a film called 'Crown City' -- that's the code name for Batman vs. Superman.
