Devin Faraci tweeted that inside sources say that Jason Momoa is possibly playing Vandal Savage.

Whoa!

...or is this old news?
Vandal Savage and Lex Luthor or no Lex at all? He physically fits Vandal but i was hoping they got an actual actor to play him :whatever:. I was hoping for Javier Bardem actually. Plus Goyer better not repeat Ra's Al Ghul stuff with this character if it's true.

Seems like it. I'm not saying he doesn't want to do this but you can see for yourself what's happening and what he originally wanted.
Yes, Batman was the first, then Wonder Woman.

1,5 years until the film comes out? We can expect the complete Justice League, and some other heroes too, before the film is out.

Zack has always wanted to do this kind of story, it just seems like he wanted to do a Superman sequel first. But at least we're hearing that this is still a Superman sequel that mainly takes place in Metropolis. It just features more characters that Zack originally planned on having. But i doubt he's complaining because he seems genuinely excited to finally do a movie with Batman in it.

Goyer however did say that there were no heroes who exist in costumes yet. So obviously he had to go back on that comment and was forced to write a story where at least Batman has been around for over a decade.

Why are they doing everything WB tell them to?
I trust Goyer and Snyder's sense of quality much more than Warner Bros.

Lol it doesn't say Goyer and Snyder at the beginning of the movies, there's a HUGE WB logo. You can't miss it.

And then your ass would be sued for breach of contract.
When I first made a deal with WB, I would specifically have included in the contract, that the studio should not be allowed to force their own ideas into the script.
If they don't agree with this, then I would refuse to sign the contract.

It's not so easy. You wouldn't be able to pull that off with every studio. Where are you gonna go when you keep refusing to sign contracts? You have to play ball. Not everybody is Quentin Tarantino or Christopher Nolan. Even Nolan probably had to play ball when he did Insomnia.

you do that and they'd blacklist your a** so you'll never work in Hollywood again.

And frankly, when it comes to big properties like this, someone else will gladly come along and take your place.

Ìf I was forced to do things I don't want, I would leave and take the script with me.
Then WB would have to start all over again.

If only things were that simple. Where would you go to make your film with your very specific vision with no studio interference? That's right, no where. You'd be out of a job and you'd basically be writing fanfic.

Unfortunately, you are an employee of the studio. You don't have the power to make such exceptions and stipulations.

I would imagine that WB is exerting some influence and have some preferences that have to be heard. They are funding the movie, so they do get a voice. However, this doesn't really seem like a plan out of left field. They have been trying for JL for a while and Cavill's Superman is a good foundation for that.

Meh...I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and I'm still not convinced we'll actually see Wondy in action. It's likely she hasn't made a debut to the public at large.

So wait, is the stance right now that WB is constantly forcing Snyder to throw in characters while he is working on the script? That's not their MO at all. You don't have to look further than movies like TDKT, Gravity and the new Harry Potter films that are coming. They are known for respecting the visions of directors and writers. The one time they screwed with that on a big tentpole, Green Lantern came out the other end.

If these ideas came from the studio, they asked Snyder if he was interested in taking them on and tasked him with coming up with the script. And he agreed to do it. Goyer has said they are further along in the process than people know about, and fans are complaining because they don't have the story outline or script in their hands to point out who exactly Jason Momoa could play or why Wonder Woman is suddenly announced as being in this movie.

The thing is Goyer and Snyder haven't earned the right to do what they want yet in WB's eyes. After the Dark Knight broke a billion, WB let Nolan do whatever the heck he wanted for TDKR because they knew it would be bank either way. After BvS makes over a billion, and believe me it will, they'll give Goyer and Snyder much more leeway.

Right, but it would still be highly uncharacteristic of them to constantly force big new ideas on Snyder/Goyer during the last several months. I mean the implication I'm getting is that Snyder had no idea that Wonder Woman was going to be in this movie when he stood up at Comic Con and announced it to us. That seems absurd to me.

Why is Wonder Woman in this movie? Why is Flash appearing too? Why not just call it JL? Why can't this just be a solo Superman film?

I have so many questions...

The same reason why Harry is supposedly the Green Goblin before his daddy dons the suit....:o:oldrazz:

Vandal Savage would be interesting way to tie in WW seeing as he is immortal.

Devin Faraci did NOT say Vandal Savage - he said he heard a rumour that Mamoa was playing VS - as in Batman VS SUPERMAN.

It a joke.
