It's not only that. The way Man of Steel left things, Superman didn't seem.... established yet. He was getting there but wasnt quite there yet. So, I think people were really hoping we'd get one solo movie were Supes can really cement himself and get his world (the Daily Planet, his relationship with Lois, Lex Luthor) fully established before we bring in the DC big guns. It just doesn't feel....earned yet, like there's no build up to the main event.

This is what I think as well. And for me, a movie that continued to establish superman would be far, far more interesting that a team-up. However, even I can see that a team-up would be a money- maker. So I understand why they did this. It's just not my preference.

I have a feeling that Flash and wonder Woman are probably going to be clones or genetic enhance people by Superman's or Zod's DNA. There are probably going to get introduce at the end of the movie. Bizzaro is going to be Lex's ****ed up clone of Superman, and Jason is going to play him. Those are your two Superman villains, Lex and Bizaro

I highly doubt this is the main event and there is definitely going to be something bigger, if everything goes to plan.

What makes you think a 'team up movie' can't continue to establish superman just as well as a solo one? IMO the addition of other heroes and codes can actually do more to establishing and evolving each of their values in a natural and intelligent way.

I have a hard time thinking Wonder Woman and Flash's Origins would fit in the Man of Steels world. The tone of Man of Steel feels like a real world. WB and Zack might want to make those two characters seem believable in that world. If my predictions are somewhat correct, then this movie is no team up movie. However, they are going to introduce theses characters before they get their own solo movies.

I guess it could, in theory. It just seems a lot less likely. Superman will have less screen time for one thing. Snyder and goyer have trouble with characters at times. And to be honest, when I think of team films I think avengers. And I'm sure I'm gonna get **** for this, but I remember there being very little character development in avengers (IMO). So my snap judgement is to think this will be the same. All fun and no substance, just with DC characters.

Human-like aliens from a destroyed planet that come to Earth and have God-like superpowers fits into the "real world tone."

Flash gets his powers from a lab accident and lightning and Wonder Woman comes from an island of Amazons.

They fit just fine.

I know what you mean, I'm not a huge fan of avengers, but given goyers recent history, I think it'll be a lot more thoughtfully put together than avengers in terms of character and thematic exploration.

I know what you mean, I'm not a huge fan of avengers, but given goyers recent history, I think it'll be a lot more thoughtfully put together than avengers in terms of character and thematic exploration.

That's the best case scenario at this point, but it's hard task for them.

I don't think Wonder Woman fits, but I have no issue with flash. He could exist in the MOS universe.

Yeah but the Avengers was dealing with characters that were already developed. Whedons goal with The Avengers was to take these already developed characters and have them interact with each other in interesting ways.

Every world in the universe go through the same stages.
We just don't know it.

Krypton is gone. Jor-El is gone. Lara is gone. Zod is gone. Faora is gone. Jonathan is gone. Hardy is gone. Hamilton is gone. All of those flashbacks to Clark's youth are probably gone... they were always going to fill out the character list. There will be more before it's all said and done. Yes, these are some bigger character names. Some of it is world-building. If I had to guess, Superman's public arrival on Earth is probably a beacon that encourages other extraordinary figures to step out. Batman as a foil for Superman will shed plenty of light on what makes Superman who he is, as has been the case throughout the history of their pairing in the comics. Jokes or serious complaints that Cavill is only a guest star in his own franchise are kind of baseless. There is plenty of screen time to be had. I'm not concerned. I do hope that there is more opportunity for Superman/Clark to speak in this Man of Steel sequel, and that has less to do with how many characters are around and more to do with the story. Man of Steel saw Clark as a wandering nomad of sorts thrust into a streamlined sequence of events that didn't give him too much time to converse.

Snyder handled character time excellently with Watchmen. He's pretty damn good at balancing at least. Here's hoping this movie is just as long as the Watchmen theatrical cut.

Speaking of bad grammar, it's BIZARRO, too many people spell it wrong, but I digress.

Flash and Wonder Woman will be... Flash and Wonder Woman!! Snyder and Goyer are fans too, Snyder has proven he likes to remain faithful to the source material, he's not going to change them that much. What they should change is the silly stuff from the comics and make better suits for the characters, specially WW, she should look like a badass warrior, not a model in a bathing suit.
