Uhm, no. Aquaman's father was a human sea-enthusiast and a lighthouse...watcher (whats the word for that ? )

sooooo….what did I miss?
Same ole same ole...nothing special. Still just speculation and rumors.

One thing I will say is Aquaman is truly one of the coolest damn characters in the DC universe. CGI and such is at a place now is the time to really show this character on film.

He just shouldn't wear orange and green.

Speculation and complaints. What else ? :P

so the usual…

There are multiple versions of Aquaman's origin.

The best of which being that his father made love to a tub of water and nine months later, found a baby in it.

That's what epic storytelling is made of. :o

Aquaman is awesome.

He's a Warrior King. WARRIOR KING!!! How can that not be badass?

I hate how people think that communicating with sea creatures is lame. Just imagine alien aircrafts hovering over the ocean shooting at civilians. All of a sudden, giant Killer Whales jump out of the water and tear them apart. That would be cool.

Honestly, and this is of course no disrespect to your opinion, but I feel like he does need another film dedicated mainly to him because he only really became "Superman" for the most part at the conclusion of the film.

I feel like there's still so much to explore on screen before he's ready to be a JL member, where we get to see himself established as a hero in Metropolis and how he eventually wins over the public with their support.

Heck, we have yet to have one film that really utilizes the fact that he's also a reporter.

I guess it's just personal preference then.

He's already Superman. He already had an entire movie where he beat the bad guys and saved the world as Superman. There's nothing at the end of MOS that suggests to me that he doesn't have public support (and the beginning of the next movie can always clarify that he does). As far as I'm concerned, he can go meet up with others.

I too think that Superman should be a reporter in Metropolis before he meets the league, and the end of Man of Steel shows us that he becomes one. But is having a storyline with Clark the reporter a prerequisite to a team up? Or is just what Superman fans would rather see (since we haven't gotten one in a while) 'instead' of a team up because they enjoy those kind of Superman stories more?

Maybe it's a mixture of both preference and a prerequisite.

And to be honest, we really don't know on how people feel about Superman after the events of "Man of Steel". They really kind of left that in the air, no pun intended.

I just feel like there's a whole mythology that has yet to be explored...that should be explored, for the character prior to him joining a league.

We haven't really gotten a good feel of what "Metropolis the City" is really like from within.

I mean, just like how Batman interacting and working with Gordon/GCPD, along with doing some investigation as a detective is important to his development as a character, so to is the stuff that I mentioned.

And Batman was even more established at the end of BB than Superman was at the end of MOS.

Truth be told, we've seen Clark as a reporter for the DP in 5 films already (as well as a few television series), and MOS ended with Clark becoming a reporter at the DP. Therefore, he will be a reporter in this new film and we will see that part of his life. I'm not exactly sure what some people want or wished for?

I'm glad to see them tread new ground this time (as they are doing with Clark meeting Batman and potentially others).

I'm glad they didn't cut the reporter persona out completely in Man of Steel. I look forward to seeing reporter Clark meet billionaire Bruce Wayne and figure out he's Batman. and of course throw Wonder Woman in there too

Clark is not a reporter as shown in MOS. Lois is the reporter. She should be the one doing the real investigating.
