Metal-0 as the origin of the name Metallo is from Grant Morrison's Action Comics run. And what's wrong with it anyway?

I don't care where it comes from. Sorry, just sounds lame to me .

Metal-0 really sounds no more lame than Metallo.

Pretty much my reaction.

Maybe that's not a face fist. Maybe he's smelling his own hand and it stinks badly because he forgot to wash his hands after taking a dump.

What are the chances of seeing this guy pop up post-credits?

Nice manip, but I really don't want to see The Rock as GL/John Stewart. Whoever they get for him if he's in a movie needs to be more like a young Apollo Creed, but less egotistical, like Apollo in Rocky 3... I just don't really see that with The Rock at all.

Landis talked a big talk, and his Superman comes across as more arrogant and standoffish than the one seen in MOS. It's as if he can't put himself outside the story :cwink:

I thought these panels were amazing. A joy to read and finally gave superman some respect. Although, I think Landis is a *****e.

Yeah, it sounds like a writers attempt to Nolanize a character by giving them a more "grounded" back story, but in the end it just comes off like rubbish and highlights why you can't Nolanize every character for the sake of realism.

I think this "crying Nolanization" thing is starting to go too far. Nolan is the wolf of this decade. People see him everywhere and in everything. People were making grounded stories and giving characters back-stories long before Nolan.

I wouldn't totally put the full blame on Nolan for making the characters "realistic." I believe he had almost full creative control on Batman Begins, and they did some pretty faithful stuff to the character and to scarecrow (even adding the hallucinations/fantasy elements). Nolan's brother and Goyer got a hold of the next two movie scripts. I blame Goyer for everything, if the 4chan stuff is real it's probably the scrapped script that Goyer wrote then got booted from the project.

Goyer had more to do with Begins than the other two movies. It's no coincidence that the other two movies had much better dialogue in my opinion anyway. The relatively more realistic approach in his movies is not a bad thing. It was his vision and it worked well there. I don't know why people keep whining about it.

^ And the first is an arguably better adaptation because of it ;)

Though I think Jonah Nolan directing the trilogy would have given us the best Batman experience. There, I said it :o

^ Metallo doesn't have to be lame. He can be an interesting Harry Osbourne/Harvey Dent type character.

We're talking about the name.

Metal-O for Metallo does sound lame to me. Sorry , just does. That said ,I think the script is fake, so I'm not gonna get into a debate about elements of a fake script or whether the source of those elements work on their own merits.

As for the character himself being in MOS 2, it makes more sense for this Batman/Superman film then does Doomsday imo. I think the character could work as a secondary heavy, though I could see then going with Doomsday because a threat like that may justify have Superman, Batman, WW and who ever else turns up having to unite to stop it.

As far as I know he has never even directed a movie. He would have been a poor choice.

I just don't see much of a difference, but yeah it doesn't matter so let's just drop it. Metallo as a villain would make more sense at this point, but Doomsday has been hinted at in easter eggs.

Are people believing this plot description? Have you learned nothing about the Internet?

Nah. We're mostly making fun of it while appreciating the work put into it.

Yeah, seriously. Someone had A LOT of free time on their hands to write it up. It really is an amalgamation of almost every stupid fan theory/rumor about this movie. Just goes to show you that the fans shouldn't the be ones writing these films.
