When this happened I thought about starting up a legitimate scoop site that was governed but the old rules of journalism...the news is important not the reporters and that opinion and conjecture would be kept off the website.

Like roach, I really don't believe a rumor until it comes from a legitimate source, is backed by evidence, or at least seems somewhat reasonable based on information I already know. One thing I like about the SHH main page is that they usually refrain from just posting up any and all rumors that come our way. Usually, once something reaches the SHH main page, I'll know it has at least some basis in reality.

Also, there's a difference between a site-runner posting a rumor that he honestly believes might be true based on credible information he's been given...and what El Mayimbe does. I have little respect for an attention ****e who will hype up a "scoop" ("HUGE DC scoop coming later tonight!") only to post something completely unsubstantiated with little to no basis in reality, or a scoop that's not huge at all. I mean, Latino Review has been churning out "scoops" for BvS on a regular basis. None of them have been true and some have been flat our wrong. So at a certain point, it becomes a lot less fun reading rumors that are more than likely completely false than reading rumors that might be on to something.

A lot of these people like Jett, El Mayimbe, and others claim to have "inside sources" that they don't really have, and their main goal is to bring hits to their site any way they can, hence the attention-****ing. I can't help but feel a bit sour towards people like that. Yes, they give us something to talk about sometimes, but as I said, it's a lot less fun when you're know you're talking about something that will never happen. Some posters here are definitely more gullible than others, though, and will blindly buy into almost anything they read, so they are the ones who have the most fun with all the misinformation that we are constantly served by these rumor sites.

I agree that El Mayimbe has been pretty much batting .000 so far on this movie, but I don't think it's fair for Jett to be looped in with him. He was the first to report on Brolin (before the trades), which was a very credible rumor that stood a chance of happening later confirmed by Brolin himself. He was also the first of the "mongers" to bring Affleck's name into the rumor mill. He may not be 100% on the money all the time, but I see him as being at least "in the ballpark" and as one of the guys who has his finger on the pulse moreso than many of the others. Even if that's still "not very much" in the grand scheme of things.

I don't know, Jett is kind of like the Stiffler of online CBM rumors to me. He's kind of an ass, and acts arrogant sometimes, but I still kinda like him and don't find him to be the antichrist some people make him out to be.

And I honestly don't think he's out there wh*ring for hits nearly as much as some of his contemporaries are. He ceased reporting on all spoiler-related stuff for TDK and TDKR when the rest of the movie sites were having a field day with it. He has some integrity with how he runs his site, he's one of the originators of "the game" so to speak, and he does have a few longstanding sources, so he has a certain amount of respect from me that I'll still give him the time of day. And when he posts non-news I just roll my eyes with everyone else.

Besides, if Jett really only cared about web traffic, he'd update that atrocious layout of his. :funny:

Rumor is that, Batman will have a symbol on his chest in the form of a bat.

They're still in the movie industry food chain though.

They're just above the guy who scrapes the gum off the seats and just below the guy who's job is to fill the bottles of popcorn butter ooze.
 
My source's source tells me that his source was told by her source that the source of all the news regarding the film came from a different source who's own source was derived from several other sources before confirming with their first source.
