Or just not bother and pretend it's all good...since there's too much to tie up.

Except the secret identity thing kind of is something that needs to be tied up. If they don't address it at all I'd call it a fault, especially considering their effort to "ground" the mythology

There is no cover, basically...just those who haven't been close to...him. For those who have....well. Maybe he's like Tony Stark.

Let's be honest...of all the Superheroes Superman's cover was always flimsy.

I got bored of Angry Birds so I tried Flappy Bird.

Then my phone went out the window.
Flappy Bird is dead. Candy Crush is like SO 2013, I NEED A NEW GAME. :fst:

Goyer said that they'd be handling it in this movie.

I wasn't moaning about anything. I'm just killing time because I got bored of playing Angry Birds.

Hah I feel ya. There's just.. nothing new to talk about. When something new does come up that's the focus of twenty pages of discussion per day

TBH I am very close to taking a break because this thread is very much the same arguments over and over again that it's not even funny anymore.

wouldn't blame ya man i keep seeing the same posters repeat the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

“I just thought it was silly,” Goyer said. “If you’re going to make her smart, if she’s going to be Superman’s love interest, Lois needs to stand on her own as a character; she needs to be really smart and have a lot of gumption … It strained credulity for me that it took Lois ten or twenty years to figure out that Clark was Superman. I call bull***** on it, especially if she’s sleeping with him. That was something that we talked about with DC, and said, ‘Maybe it’s time to move on from that.’ And maybe there are even people in Smallville that know. It’s not explicit, but we imply that maybe people in Smallville have put two and two together.

I don't blame you. Sometimes, I question why I come here if it's literally going to be the same old **** over and over again from the same people no less.

It is tiring and a few times today I almost decided because it's coming down to nitpicking the hell out of MOS or the same topics over and over again.

Do you have to read it all...and take it so seriously, though?

it's not about taking it seriously it's about the topics have been the same ones we've talked about from the start of this thread.

Like....its a problem that Clark let his father die, but it's okay that Lois knows he's Superman from the beginning. Nice. :woot:

It's like the Twilight Zone here, or the movie Groundhog Day. There's only so much for us to discuss until we actually learn something about the film itself.

Bingo. Pretty much like every thread.

So isn't it okay to talk about again? If one doesn't want to, I assume they're free not to.

Hey if people want to get into the 12,345,237,385 iteration of why they didn't like MOS then fine.

So can't you not read it or not post about not wanting to read it? If all you want is new news, you'll probably see it as it's own thread when it first breaks, no? Some people weren't reading when it was discussed way back, or want to revisit it to see how others think...is that okay? Heck, people brig up the same stuff over and over again in the costume treads too, did you drop by there and raise a yellow card as well? :D

No one is saying people can't talk about what they want to talk about...just that it's getting tiring to some people.

We're allowed to post links to other forums, right? Because I found this interesting post on the different versions of Superman.

About the secret identity...

I fully expect them to find some way to explain it. It would make sense for a story of that style. But...I hope they don't.

To me, the Kent identity is a fun and important part of the superman mythos that has unfortunately always been a little dubious and a hard sell with modern audiences. Still, the contrast between superman and Clark is always amusing. It also speaks to superman's character that he chooses to "play human." So, I really don't think it should be done away with. And as for explaining it....they can try, but I doubt it would matter much. Detractors of the idea have been around for a while and the implausibility of it is ingrained in their minds. I doubt some little tech or theory to explain it would hold much weight when the idea has been called silly for years. They'd probably just moan about the new explanation being "silly" or blame it all on that Nolan guy that ruins all things "comic-y."

So, I hope they just go with it. Just let it be fun and contrast with the more serious superman scenes. Maybe throw in a little blurb from Lois about how Clark looks and acts different when he's at the DP, combine that with a somewhat varied performance from Cavill and leave it at that.

Has it been discussed in this thread about the tweets earlier today from the Forbes guy (Mark Hughes) about a potential Trinity reveal photo in the coming weeks? He said he also knows the villains and "They're dangerous and hurt Superman."

Of course, it can always be BS but Forbes is reliable I think?

I thought it was actually allowed. Let me ask this...if it was the 12,345,237,384th iteration as to why they liked it, would it also be scrutinized for being as redundant? I also think that one can discuss certain aspects they didn't like as much without disliking the movie as a whole...but that's just a guess.

I am not saying people can't talk about what they want. I am tired of the circular topics and was thinking about taking a break. If people want to keep talking about the same seven topics they can...I won't be a part of it anymore.

No one wants to talk about it. :(

Jesus Christ....again with the identity? haven't we had enough talk about that over the last, what, year?? Find something new already...

;)

I'm the groundhog for today and I see no shadow. Back to the usual drudgery, folks! :oldrazz:

roach, TNN22 I am with you 1,000%.

I used to hang in the the THOR TDW threads a lot. I was anticipating that film like you wouldn't believe. Then I saw it. I was noot pleased with it to say the least. I let my opinion be known, stated why, and I don't go back to get into circular debates. I rarely check in there.
