Man if Martian Manhunter was a villain he'd be pretty much unstoppable. He could just stay in his invisible massless form and phase his hand through people's bodies, then phase back to solid form...pretty hardcore

He's been a villain. In Joe kelly's JLA run. And also there is the premise of those white martians.

So what's the best Batman & Superman story ever? The Dark Knight Returns? Public Enemies? Kingdom Come? (As far as their "relationship".)

State your case.

Anything but the Dark Knight Returns. Bleh...

O come on...it's not a stake.

It's a big...dirty...rusty shovel digging it out scoop-by-scoop.

:O

Don't get me started or I'll tell you what I really think of that steaming pile of dung.:cmad::o

I find it like a stake in the heart as a supes fan. And I'm not even that fond of its batman characterization.

I hope you haven't read The Dark Knight Strikes Again then. Because if TDKR is a stake in the heart of the Supes' fan, TDKSA rips their hearts right out of their ribcages with its my bare hands and then throws them on the floor and stomp on 'em 'til they die. :cmad:

I guess what I was getting at is... There doesn't seem to be a lot of great or best-ever Batman/Superman stories to choose from. So my point is, maybe this movie is in a VERY good position because it's not going to be "straying away" from any classic stories. They've kind of got a semi-blank canvas to play with. I like that. It tells me that they can REALLY shake things up and it won't make anyone too mad (some will be mad and dissatisfied with this movie regardless, but that's because they're poopy heads).

Does it feel like cleaning all the bathrooms in Grand Central Station with your tongue? :cwink:

Why?? It's an else world's book...it's like being made about the characterization in Gotham by Gaslight.

In regards to comics, I'd say Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is probably the best.

This. It's an else worlds what if type story, so really don't get why some would consider it a "stake in the heart".

Crazy Lex in Battle suit & Asian toy man kid..
Loeb doing that half good half bad thing he does from time to time.

Maybe if the art was different.

I don't understand the love for PUBLIC ENEMIES either. Like Lex posing as his own son in the 90's, Lex as President was not used to it's full potential or allowed to go on for a longer period. Plus... giant robo Supes/Bats? Da cuss was that cuss all about!!?

Well, seeing as how people have yet to name a better worlds finest comic, I'm gonna stick with what I said.

^ Not to mention random Dark Knight Returns Superman time traveling. And Nightwing thinking he could take on a fully armored Lex Luthor.

Come to think of it, the DTV made a LOT of positive changes :hehe:

What if the film is batman and superman becoming friend

the little tech wiz kid and the giant Batman AND Superman robot were both really dumb choices for Public Enemies. Those parts really stick out compared to the quality of the rest of the story

Public enemies at least got the relationship between Supes and Bat right. The plot, meh.

I like most of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. The comic, I haven't seen the DCAU adaptation.
