If someone invited you to their home, then punched you in the face with brass knuckles, are you seriously going to assume he wouldn't use them if you barged in unannounced??

then why didn't he use the brass knuckles when the three thugs busted a home invasion on him?

Because he found a way to use the three thugs armed with WMD's against you??

Seriously, how is this not common sense?

Eh... SUPERMAN RETURNS is just not worth this level of parsing.

Superman IV though? Yeah, somebody better be preparing a Doctorate level thesis o that. :word:

Whatever they do, people are going to be upset.
Clearly.

the three thugs were going to kill him

And yet they didn't. He kept the puppets dancing and had no reason to use Krpytonite.

Honestly, I know this is futile. There are a million-and-one reasons why it didn't make sense that Singer's S-Man didn't know that island was Kryptonite laced. But to someone who has made up their mind to ignore a film's shortcomings, no answer will satisfy.

roach has a point though. I don't totally agree with it, but from a story and character point he has a legitimate view.

If you thought Lex was pulling the strings on the three then...

Why not?

After the last time when kryptonite nearly meant two cities being nuked I'd make it a point to double check.

Superman being the intelligent fellow he is, would I assume take the same precautions.

and yet the next time Superman dealt with Lex...he was dealing with 3 kryptonians that threatened to kill him. If he didn't whip out kryptonite to save his life then it stands to reason that he does not have any more.

These conversations are better with alcohol. :oldrazz::o

Or not....

*sigh* insecure superman fans worried that Batman will beat up their hero.

IMO, it's kinda silly. They seem to complain right and left about this supposed "Bat-God" but have no problem with "Super-God", just because he has powers.

No, he doesn't.

Superman in STM felt the radiation weakening him BEFORE Luthor put the necklace around his neck. He didn't have to have it on, walk around talking a bit, then get sucker-punched in order to understand what was happening to him.

But hey, if you want to believe someone would actually forget the effects of the only thing that really came close to killing them, then I'm not sure what to say....

Brothaman, again, I don't totally agree with his assessment but from a lot of angles I can see what he's getting at. For someone with only 8 posts here you seem to WANT to get into an argument for no good reasons with others. EASE DOWN hermano. You'll last longer around these parts. Not everything on a forum has to be a rhetorical knife fight.

he felt the radiation at what 5 feet---10 feet away.

In Superman Returns he is flying in with the force to smash the ground...

...stands to reason that he may have landed faster than the radiation taking effect.

SR had such a murky continuity relation to the Donner films.......

Do we even know what prior experience SR's Superman had with Kryptonite in the context of the SR story?

I don't really remember, but did they establish if Lex had used Kryptonite against Superman before, prior to the events in SR?

if SR is connected to the Donner films then he has only dealt with kryptonite once...
