Brothaman, again, I don't totally agree with his assessment but from a lot of angles I can see what he's getting at. For someone with only 8 posts here you seem to WANT to get into an argument for no good reasons with others. EASE DOWN hermano. You'll last longer around these parts. Not everything on a forum has to be a rhetorical knife fight.

Hopefully most of the people here aren't so thin-skinned.

Argument? Sweet Jebus.....

he felt the radiation at what 5 feet---10 feet away.

In Superman Returns he is flying in with the force to smash the ground...

...stands to reason that he may have landed faster than the radiation taking effect.

And did he fall to his knees immediately after this, or realize what he was standing on and take to the skies again?

He did not.

I forgot how bad that landing was. A microcosm of how that film was executed in general. Sigh

SR was stupid and its superman was a tad stupid.

Then by those rules Superman is pretty stupid...everytime he fights Lex and gets hit with kryptonite....he should have seen it coming.
Everytime get gets into a fight with Metallo...a guy who's heart is kryptonite...and gets zapped...he's stupid.

It's not my or other's skins you should be concerned with. The mods here are a dedicated bunch. A word to the wise and all that friend. Just saying.

If he goes into each battle assuming what has happened before won't happen again?

Then yes. Yes he is.

Like I said, he's often dumbed-down.

And I could maybe believe the Kryptonite thing if he hadn't encountered it before and didn't know anything about it. I think that's the key to using it without making him look like a dumbo.

if SR is connected to the Donner films then he has only dealt with kryptonite once...

the problem is, Singer never really firmly established how SR was connected to the Donner films.

it was just sort of a "quasi sequel" or even "spiritual sequel."

so, for all we know, it's up in the air as to exactly what prior exposure Superman had to Kryptonite and/or Lex's use of it.

with that being said, I do seem to recall that the deleted opening with Superman exploring the ruins of Krypton would have involved him being exposed to Kryptonite, which led to him being sick/weak upon returning back to Earth.

but, in the actual film, that was never shown.

Not necessary nor warranted.

Carry on with your posting here, and don't try to stir things up or make what isn't, "is".

I'm pretty sure he said that this movie comes after Superman II...Lois was impregnated during the sex romp in the FOS.

The CGI Routh hasn't aged well. Thats the problem with using so much CGI. In a few years it looks completely outdated. Like the SW prequels.

On top of that, the CGI was poorly executed. There were times where you can clearly tell that it's a CGI double based on the differing, bordering on unrealistic actions between the model and the actor (ultrafluid versus human movements) and the inconsistent shades of colour.

dude what's with the attitude...he's giving you friendly advice...we've been here for a while...you haven't. We've seen this all before. We know what we are talking about. Ease up.

*SHUDDERS*

But he's dealt with Luthor twice before. Despite how hokey Hackman's Luthor was, it always came close to doing him in...so this time, with him armed with Kryptonian technology and knowledge (which he knows came from his FOS)......

....he just comes right in?

so he should have done what?

Uncanny valley in the purest form. That's what the faux-routh is....
