Not talking about any sort of Q&A. I'm talking about full on actors not saying a single word. It's just so damn odd. This is like the one time Cavill has shown up and said nada...

"Ok guys, I just wanna say thanks for the support and we really have something special for you etc..." Hand mic back.
I don't get your point Marvin, what are you trying to say about it?

On another note, man...whether you are a DC Fan or a Marvel fan, or even both.....Comic Book fans were the real winners today. We got SO MUCH goodness today. I mean it's hard enough to keep track of the stuff coming out for ONE film, but we've gotten several announcements for different ongoing properties.

That would be a fantastic way of giving us a fresh noir take on Batman.
In fact, now that you brought it up, I'll be disappointed when we don't get it.

I've had to live with this level of disappointment in just about every cbm made(save for sin city and the above). From spidey to wolverine to batman, thought bubbles play such an important role in the comics(those particularly) and they are entirely forgone. Just what is one of this miller books without it for example.

Anyways, never say never.

Logically though, you think normal people of Metropolis are just going to go about their day without giving some second thoughts as to whether they want someone around like Supes who can level cities like that when he's irresponsible or God forbid someone else comes looking for him?

In the real world, of course not. But the way Snyder just casually brushed off questions about it tells me he doesn't see it as controversial. And as I said before, the final scenes are entirely triumphant. The General's concern is that he "might one day act against American interests" when arguably he already has. He's smiling with his mother at his father's grave, everyone real proud. Jenny says "He saved us!" No one seems to be the least bit concerned about collateral damage. Although it was a problem for the audience, it clearly wasn't in Goyer or Snyder's head, and based on that I hope they don't suddenly decide to make it so because it would be against their creative intuition.

I just find it incredibly odd and unusual. And I've never seen anything like that happen before at the con save for maybe Avengers but even then they had other panels and I imagine RDJ had something to say. I'm supposing this is a product of the two years out circumstance...

Just one sentence from each of them, or even one of them and it wouldn't read so gotdamn awkward to me.

Snyder defended the depiction of collateral damage against the people who wanted to see the Donner Superman. The comments were never made to negate the idea of the citizen of Metropolis having issues with it in future movies.

But like I said, Kevin Smith and David Goyer have both said how this film will address how the public feels about the destruction. Rightfully so. It's the most natural progression there could be and is completely logical to the story.

I think if the progression dealing with the damage and destruction of the city is integrated into the story... it will make looking back on MOS all that more interesting and possibly even a better movie for some.

Oh okay. I didn't really think about it.

is this a real show? the acting and writing are atrocious.

If you say so.
I fully admit I'm the last person to honestly care about "Oscar worthy" writing or acting and treat most visual entertainment as just entertainment. But I'm not stupid and can never quite see this high standard people have for acting and such.
Maybe I just buy into things easily. Oh well. I really like it.

But they don't. Smith is speculating from early on and Goyer isn't talking about the destruction specifically.

I'm willing to be wrong here, and with Goyer's script getting a rewrite I could be very wrong. I just don't see any clear signals pointing to a comeuppance specifically for all the boom clang pow.

I agree. Perhaps they came as a last minute thing?

It's CW. CW will be CW. Take it for what it is. Supernatural was a great show, despite all its blatant CWness.

I think Snyder said that he didn't want to give them mics because he was afraid that people would start asking them questions about the film.

Consider the source of Kevin Smith's info ***cough Ben Afllect cough*** and he doesn't say anything about speculation. It's a very matter of fact comment.

Also read Goyer's comments one more time .....

"When Goyer was asked whether or not he was surprised about the backlash surrounding Superman breaking General Zod's neck at the end of Man of Steel, he replied: "To a certain extent, Superman, cinematically, hadn't been reinvented since the Donner films. We will be dealing it with the coming film. He's not fully formed in [Man of Steel]. He will have to deal with the repercussions in the next film."

Regardless, how does a city just ignore that kind of damage? That kind of oversight in a movie would be utterly baffling and addressing it wouldn't change anything or take away from Snyder's decisions in the first film.

I think Snyder said that he didn't want to give them mics because he was afraid that people would start asking them questions about the film.

Yea I heard that too.
I mean he himself had a mic and didn't have to field diddly but still, the muting seemed planned and no accident.

Amazing that a film can have that level of impact without it's panelists saying a single word... It's director talking up and down nonsense. I love it.

We're still talking about Metropolis damage...

Even after everything we saw today.

I think it was an exciting day. What interests me is also what movies are going to deliver upon the hype and which movies might not since Hollywood is so reliant upon trying to set up franchises. I think that's why Warner Bros didnt come out and announce the slew of new superhero movies people had been promising. They dont want to invest alot of money in properties when they know from a studio vantage-point that these films are not cheap to make, and still cross promote on a global level, and they want to make sure that they are indeed putting the right wheels in place for their new cinematic universe.

Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like a teaser for Batman v Superman or a pic of Wonder Woman. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the boards burn.

Well because I mentioned earlier the idea of Lex Luthor playing on that and perhaps manipulating Batman against Superman because of it. I've said enough on it though, no need to repeat myself more.
