DA_Champion is quite desperate to have people accept this, it would seem.

5 posts on the subject in the span of a month = desperate?

I sometimes forget that this forum has too many twelve-year olds, thanks for reminding me.

Wasn't Batman an urban legend in JL:War? For how long before the events of the film was he said to be active?

If the film has the same timeline as the comics, about a year.

Woah, that's a very short time. So obviously the myth didn't last long in that case. Anyways, thanks.

I think Batman as an urban legend could work if done right. It would be very interesting indeed.

Remember that episode of BTAS where the kids were telling stories about him, and in each of those stories he had a different look? That worked well in showing how an established Batman can have some mystery still.

There was an episode like that?
The direct to video "Gotham Knight" had a short like that.

Was that the one where they do a TDKReturns story?

Gather round the campfire, kiddies... Old Man Kriptin's got a tale to tell...

The LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT episode of the Timm show, the one with kids telling each other stories which present Batman (and Robin) in various different ways through some Gotham City kids telling stories about him and coming across totally different in each tale is based on a Batman story about Bruce Wayne taking some kids out on a camping trip for one of his charities. Sitting around the campsite each kid tells how they envision Batman, from spectral, supernatural avenger to high tech badass. Eventually Bruce actually appears in full costume to the children in hopes of getting a scare out of them. Once face to face with the actual Batman the children balk, seeing right through the disguise and telling Bruce he needs a better costume, since the actual Batman doesn't match up with any of the looks they had in their own mind. The Timm show adapted that as a framing sequence to delve into different eras and takes on Batman, and GOTHAM KNIGHT did a similar RASHAMON like gloss on the same story idea, but it all comes from a 1970's era Batman comic book.

And there was the Gotham Knight DTV where they used the same idea, but with a Batman who just started out.

I liked the bit in the TV episode where one kid, playing with a feathered boa (!) says "I heard he has a car that can drive up the sides of buildings!" and the other kids say "Oh, shut up Joel!".

Well, I'm not 5,6 or even 12. I shall be 40 in less than a week. You know what my plan is when this movie comes out? TO ENJOY WATCHING THE HECK OUT OF IT!!! Honestly people, keep obsessing. You will never derive any enjoyment from this movie if you can't take it on it's own terms.

I always thought that was pretty daring for a kids show since they portrayed "Joel" as obviously gay and we're taking a jab at Schumacher .

And there was the Gotham Knight DTV where they used the same idea, but with a Batman who just started out.

They did it in the one segment of Gotham knight call "Have I got a story for you". A group of skater kids in Gotham are telling each other a story about how they all seen the Batman fighting against a ninja. In each story the batman looks different.

One story he's a high tech robot.

In another story he's a giant bat.

In another story he's a demonic figure

Art style in that segment is bad in an upsetting way

My favorite segment in Gotham Knight was "Working Through Pain". I wish Nolan would've incorporated the Gotham Knight in his movies.

That's my favorite part as well. Brian Azzarello wrote it. He's usually on point when it comes to Batman.

I agree, it's my favorite segment as well, in both art and storytelling

And if I remember correctly, the girl said that she was adding things to spice up the story.
