Battlefield 3 - Part 1

F2000 is the greatest gun ever assembled by mankind. I should have been playing with the assault class more.

Oh, man...I wish I would've been able to record the insanely epic sniper kill I got the other night.

Operation Firestorm, playing Rush as defender, I perched up on top of the crane near the final MCOM stations. Not the crane off to the side, the one WAY BACK by the final base if you're a defender (Objective A in CQ). Using my SV-98, I spotted a sniper downrange ALLLLLLLL the way at the enemy spawn (past Objective C in CQ), over on the hill to the left where Attacker snipers like to camp sometimes. Way high up, laying prone. So, I scope up, aim, fire...the bullet misses a bit, and I adjust. Scope up, aim, fire...a full second and a half goes by, then I see the kill pop up at the bottom of the screen.

My jaw hit the floor. Can't believe I made that shot, man...it was across the entire map, quite literally. Was even more surprised when I did it again a little while later from the same spot. It was epic.

Love this game.

Love the game, but am about ready now for the new map pack, give it a bit more diversity.

Is this game worth getting if you don't care for multiplayer? I've heard the single player campaign is a joke.

It is the worst single player experience I've ever had.

Wow, so now we're hatin' on Conan huh. Sheeeeeeeeesh.

BF3's campaign is awful for a AAA game. There is a pretty cool jet level though.

Yeah, I thought the Conan game was alright. Perfect voice actor for Conan, and more faithful to Robert E. Howard's Conan than any film has ever been. Also liked the combat. Sure it's a God of War clone, but I enjoyed it loads more than most GOW clones.

Iv still yet to touch the SP, but I refuse to believe its the worst uv ever played. Ur just jumping on the "hate on BF" bandwagon. As good as the MP plays, it can't be that bad. It's prob just boring, but not the worst uv played.

My brother got the game a while ago and since he's moved on to other things at the moment, I took my chance and played for a while. I started with the MP and was enjoying myself pretty well...until I got killed a million times over and decided to screw the MP and play the SP. (It happens in every MP in every game so it's not a flaw with the game but rather a flaw with me...)

I have to say...the SP is the WORST in any game I've played. I mean, I'm sure there is worse but I haven't played it. It's so terrible that I wasn't sure I was playing the same game. Oh my god I'm getting bored just thinking about it. They should have thrown out the single player. It's atrocious.

What the hell were they thinking...

I now almost want to go and play the SP to see if it's really that bad, which it prob isn't and I know more than most of you so I'll probably be right, but maybe this is one of those times I'm not. Hmm.

That was...obnoxious.

Thank you.

I will eventually get around to that SP though. Probably. Maybe.

Had the game about a week. It's pretty sweet, even though I'm still working on not sucking. Never touching that SP though.

You clearly have not played Conan.

Hahah nah, I didn't even know they made another Conan game.

Play it. Then I triple dog dare you to beat it a second time on Hard.

Nowadays, with so many games that give you an open world full of player choice and consequence, it kind of amazes me that I still enjoy games that set you on a single path from beginning to end. But not this time. The story is generic, mercifully short and full of laughable dialogue. To see it unfold you have to follow people (even though you can run faster, and if you do, you have to wait for them to catch up) and do the occasional QTE. That's the whole game. As soon as I got all the campaign achievements (which I only finished out of spite) I took the single player disc out of the case and placed it in a box in my closet.

It's not entirely bad. The opening was awesome, I did like the first half of the jet mission and the whole Russian angle was interesting but all of that is less than a quarter of the actual plot. As if being held by the hand throughout the entire journey wasn't bad enough, it ends at the climax of the story and doesn't even offer a post-credits conclusion. The MP being fantastic is a testament to how awful the SP is.

Sounds like you just described a fair majority of FPS campaigns. I agree with Pat, and I've played the BF campaign. It's not inspired by any means, but worst ever? No way.

The difference is most FPS campaigns don't make that stuff feel like a chore. It was the worst campaign I've ever played through, do I really have to add "IMO" to the end of that? They made dragging a body a QTE ffs!

I have no problem with a game being simple as long as it's fun.
Serious Sam HD is a ton of fun because it concentrates more on being a game than a bad attempt at being Hollywood movie. Basic premise, big beautiful enviroment, throw a million enemys at you. Rinse and repeat. Works a charm.
