You know, I see the musculature, and Tim Sale's version comes to mind.
Not me, I was one of the few who was happy with the choice of Ben as Batman.
I think it says something about what a devoted, lifelong Batman fanboy I am, that for months now I can be talking about my dwindling interest in this project, about how Marvel are doing their movies much better and how now my hype is more focused on Guardians of the Galaxy and then Avengers: Age of Ultron after that.... then along comes this pic, and it's like none of those other movies even exist anymore. All of a sudden I'm not thinking about my concerns for how this movie is going to turn out and my fears it'll be a mess, all I can think is, "AAAAAAAAAAAH BATMAN IS BACK AND HE'S AWESOME!!!!!!"
One picture shouldn't knock away any doubt, the man still needs to act and emote. He needs to play Batman not just stand there is a semi decent costume.
"Semi decent" LOL
@sharkboy For sure, Affleck is ripped now and will make a much more intimidating Batman than Bale
Yes heaven forbid not everyone is soiling there pants at one pic, then again I am very skeptical about this entire project so it might play a part in my lack of excitement. I do hope for the best though but cant help feeling the way I do.

His ripped based on what? Now people are just making crap up.
We're going back to the Tim Burton "scary Batman" it seems now. I hope they play up how frightening and ambiguously supernatural he's viewed by others. Like Superman should even at first be like, "is he even human?" then just use his x-ray vision a la World's Finest to verify it.
You don't have to soil your pants, but I mean, give credit where credit is due. "Semi decent" is one hell of an understatement. A good cosplay costume can be semi-decent. This, on the other hand, looks to be one of the best superhero movie outfits ever so far.

What was the last bit of superhero casting that absolutely failed and missed the mark? Maybe Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern, but I would argue it's more the movie than his actual performance, Afflecks dim Daredevil performance (with a dim script) Jessica Alba as invisible woman? Halle Berry as Catwoman?
I'm just saying gone are the days of Matt Salinger as Captain America, Shaquille O'Neal as Steel or Clooney as Bruce Wayne. Even in mediocre films like Cap: the first avenger and Thor 1, they still nailed that casting. Even in MoS in which people are still divided over, I doubt anyone whether they like the film or not can truly say that Henry Cavil failed as Superman.
Point being, with what's at stake, with comic book properties being what they are, with the character that Affleck is playing and as big of a comic fan that Snyder (and Affleck) is, you'd have to be really REALLY ignorant to what Batman is, to mess this up.
Not saying that your doubts have no basis...but the odds are not in your favour on being right, a lot has happened since Daredevil.

regardless of whatever lighting effects, padding and sculpting on the suit and angles are used (vs how big affleck really is) you don't look at the picture and go...hey it's a skinny dude in a heavily padded suit, you say holy crap that guy is huge.

Well your personal opinion is unfortunately flawed in it's premise based on your complaints about the suit. It's fine to feel the way you do, but at least have more valid reasons for it other than "I just don't like it."Like I said it my personal opinion in regards to the project as a whole could be hindering me from seeing what you guys are seeing. I was along for the MOS reveal and it was fun and exciting, its frustrating I don't feel the same now and I hate to rain on the parade but its just how things stand.
Didn't expect to see Batfleck next to the Batmobile.Well your personal opinion is unfortunately flawed in it's premise based on your complaints about the suit. It's fine to feel the way you do, but at least have more valid reasons for it other than "I just don't like it."
I hate this delve into criticism especially when a bunch of people are on a high but Affleck isn't even my primary concern (although he is a concern) but Snyder/Goyer. I base this from the debacle titled Man of Steel, to me that film was an utter failure and a disgrace to all things Superman. It had none of the magic usually associated with the character besides the spectacle of displaying his powers. Now the same geniuses have to juggle three characters in one movie.

No you apply common sense and look at current pics of the actor and then look at the actor in the suit and realize that maybe just maybe the bulk of apparent mass and definition is from some kind of muscle suit as opposed to the actor.![]()
