I've never doubted his look, but unless they modify his voice he's all wrong

Have you seen him act? If you have the past 15 years and see Batman, then good for you. I don't see it.

I mean I just watched Gone Girl trailer and bust out laughing how bad he is

I didn't lol but to me it wasn't any different than his other performances. The only performance of his that stands out to me is "The Town."

I'd think at this point you are pretty firm in your opinion of Affleck. Seems pointless to try and change your mind. So I can only say hopefully once they release a trailer it will calm your fears.

I'm not even a fan of Affleck but what exactly was bad about his acting in that Gone Girl trailer because I didn't see this terrible acting?

The part where he gets angry and grabs his wife was the part i was laughing at

thank god he wears a very intimidating suit...that should help him alot

Okay, I watched the trailer twice and didn't see what you saw. Which is fine.

We all have those actors we wonder how they continue to get work, mine are Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson and yours is Ben Affleck.

On one hand, Keaton can be scary without the suit ;)

On the other hand, at that time people thought he was the worst possible choice for Batman.

I'm sorry but I think his voice will be perfect for bats...at the end of the
"Gone Girl" trailer when he gruffly whispers "I ...didn't...kill...my wife" would be great
For his voice behind the mask. He can just talk low and normal, like the arkham games. Like Keaton in burton's films.

^ Yeah, I want a more normal Batman voice. But one that makes me forget that it's Affleck in the suit, and lets me see the character :)

^ Yeah, they really bring about his angry glares. Just have a pap stand behind superman and we won't have to worry about the "angry" part of his performance.

I think this totally works for when Batman has to put on a pretend smile for the public. He nails it

And when he's being interviewed by Lois Lane

The bros talking about his physique and saying he's not as big as Jackman...

Think about these few points, and yes, I am quite versed in fitness and body composition.

- Hugh Jackman is shorter than Ben, and he's also nowhere near as big as some of you have him out to be. Yes, he's ripped, but think of it as a UFC fighter. What you see on weigh ins and what a fighter normally weighs (we call this their walking weight) are two vastly different things. For Hugh (and Cavill for that matter), those 30 second shirtless scenes are after weeks of dieting down, cutting any water retaining out of their diet, and getting as much water out of their system as possible, much like a bodybuilder before a show. So, in essence, the Cavill and Hugh on the shirtless scenes are likely at least 10-15 lbs less in water weight than what they'd normally carry around in the rest of the picture. Conversely, any scenes where they need to fill out their suit or what have you, they'd bulk and drink a ton of water beforehand. Take that and add the magic of camera angles and editing and you have two very lean actors who appear massive because of the type of training they are doing, and the vascularity/definition brought out by doing these weigh in/bodybuidling show steps. The Cavill and Jackman in the shirtless scenes probably weigh a lot less than many of you think, specifically because the illusion that having the added definition and the right muscle tone in the right places affords you.

- Ben is bulking up and has been. If he needs any scenes shirtless or whatever, he will do the same thing Cavill and Hugh have done to prep for the scene. There's a big difference in 225 lbs and 190 lbs in terms of proportion in their respective heights, body type etc.

This incarnation of Batman is likely to be out of shape given the context of tired and world weary, he doesn't have the advantage of a healing factor or never needing to eat. Also, I just prefer bearmode Batman. It differentiates him from Dick Grayson, who I feel should be smaller in mass, but more defined.

Yep. I think people mistake what they see on screen for what these actors must be walking around looking like. I'm sure if you ran into Hugh Jackman on the street that he'd look athletic but wouldn't look like a beast. He's been on WWE shows recently and looked tiny compared to what an actual bodybuilder/wrestler looks like. So try and put it into context when you see these guys before you unfairly compare them to Ben. It's like saying that Brock Lesnar isn't as ripped as Georges St. Pierre. Two different weight classes.

i just want him to punch the crap out of goons without much acrobatic stunts...mostly like the club scene in tdk. like one mentioned, the raid...but without the waving arms stuff

basically snyder style...
