I wonder if Ben Affleck feels bad about missing the cast party, because the restaurant they went to has some pretty good slices.

poor batfleck...

A Best Actor nomination for Affleck for Gone Girl is on the cards I thinks.

There a couple of reasons -
1. The last 3 main characters from Fincher films all got Oscar nominated - Eisenberg, Mara and Pitt. Whether they were deserving or not is a different conversation but they did get nominated.

2. The industry LOVES Ben Affleck. LOVES. LOVES. LOVES. If any of you sat through any awards show for the 2012 awards season would know this. Every time he won an award there was instantaneous and warm applause and standing ovations and loud cheering and hollering. It was as if he had made Citizen Kane 10 times over instead of merely Argo.

3. There was this massive pity party that the director's branch snubbed Affleck for even a nomination for Best Director for Argo. It is no secret he would have won had he been nominated. He won every other industry award for directing. But he was denied the Oscar by his peers in the directing branch. Cue much skulking from Affleck and much consolation from the rest of Hollywood on this catastrophe.

This is the perfect way for the Academy to make up for it. The film will of course be well reviewed- critics love Fincher, has a prime Oscar slot on the release calender and the studio will be pushing this very hard as their biggest pony.

So a nom for Affleck for Best Actor is very very likely. And this will of course endear him to Bat fans even further. It will work out like clockwork.

New Affleck photos:

Wearing a gigantic shirt once again.

I hope they pull the better parts of the character without going completely nuts with it. We saw intimidation scenes in BB, but I feel that it's an area that's relatively untouched as of late. There are a ton of ways to make you want to believe that criminals are fearful of him instead of just implying that they're fearful of him just because that's what you do in those movies.

I think it would be good to adopt the general persona of TDKR Batman, including is waryness of Superman before actually meeting him. But keep him away from the more psychotic moments of Miller's Batman.

I honestly think it'd be neat if he starts out scary and cold, and got more sympathetic as the movie goes on.

Gigantic shirt can't hide those shoulders, he looks powerful.

Agreed. Giving Bats a dynamic arc (going from weary and mean to inspired and heroic) is one of the keys to success for this movie.

Mr upper body. Batmans legs are gonna give out when he tries delivering some kicks to Supermans face.

Eh, he'll be in the Batsuit or a regular suit, so I don't think it'll really matter to work out his legs so hard. You won't notice I don't think? It's not like he's gonna lube up and do a body building competition.

I really couldn't give a crap whether his ankles are fat enough for the armchair Hercules' in this thread.

I really dont care either, we wont see it. But i still find it funny because i like to picture these actors as being Batman and doing everything we see in the movies. And poor Affleck is all upper body!

Yeah, he's definitely top heavy, but it doesn't matter.

It's hard to judge leg muscles when the guy is wearing jeans.

Plus it's a movie folks. Who cares about his legs.

As if none of you guys skip leg day too. Come on bro.

Actually, the only fair way for Batman and Superman to settle their differences might be a POSEDOWN!!! :wow:

I just hope they don't make Ben Affleck's Batman laugh like a madman as he did in All-Star Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder.

How cares about his skinny legs? You won't see it on screen when he has the cape and suit on.
