Not to mention that Zod was his friend. He know his weakness because maybe he teached Jor-el how to fight, as we saw when he fought with Superman. But just seeing that some naming Jor-el just a scientist made me laugh and ask if they really saw the movie :lmao:

Again, he's GENERAL ZOD, a general! No matter how proficient the scientist is, he shouldn't best him in hand to hand. Maybe you should watch the movie again.

THEN.... can we talk about the BEASTMAN!!! I mean Batfleck I mean Batman :D

Maybe Zod simply wasnt that good at fighting? Maybe his strength were in military tactics or something? Scientists can be fighters, think about Gordon Freeman from Half Life.

Edit: Yeah, maybe we should get back to the threads subject.

^^^ Zod proved how to fight in Metropolis and with the right guy.. Superman. and you're right maybe his strenghts were tactical, and the hard weapons are Faora and Nam-ek? I think that's how it works the military... as A TEAM!!!! And I don't know for some why is something impossible for a scientist to be a great fighter... They need to be nerds to prove something to some? and also a villain has to win all the fights to prove they're great but proving with intelligence, tactics and FACTS.. eventhought in some scenes he beat Superman physically even if Superman was more powerful and Zod seemed to had the advantage with only his knowledge?
Don't continue feeding him man ;)

Yeah, to me Jor-El gave me kind of an Doc Savage kinda vibe. Sure, he was a scientist but he also was a lover, father and yes fighter. Also, i agree about Faora and Nam-ek being weapons.

Last but not least: Snyder wouldnt have hired Russel Crowe if they wanted Jor-El to be a weak nerdy scientist.

 exactly!! Why some think that the villain has to be only phisical. The villain is phsycological, badassery (with just a look you need to think twice about messing with the guy) his presence and of course the moral to the hero. another thing is the intimidation and Shannon's Zod with just his face, presence and his glare scares you a lot!!! that's another great thing about this Zod that was the badass looking, one thin And not to mention that Zod was the main villain but not the only one as I said before General zod and his army were the threat and Zod's great thing is that it was connected to Superman's dad, which connect the story in a great way and put things in a different perspective. :)

Shauner, they definitely referenced that they were friends. Jor-El even said "you've abandoned the principals that bound us together" or something to that affect. I still say part of the reason Jor whipped his ass was A: he was fighting for his son's life and B: Zod was holding back slightly and was caught off guard slightly by Jor even putting up a fight like that. Zod also told Superman that not a day goes by that it doesn't haunt him, and when he eliminated his consciousness in the scout ship he showed obvious remorse.

I want Affleck a little scruffy but just a little.

Some 5 o' clock shadow would be good, but I don't want him too whiskery like Amell is in Arrow.

smth like this look could disguise his chin. and besides looking badass it can put Batman as a guy who can be anyone but wayne is the deal, and that's the difficult part and it's interesting how they're gonna do it.
If its clean shaved batman with whis chin or a scruffy bats. I'm intrigued..

I could never come to the conclusion that tactics were one of his strengths.

If what I've heard is true, Scott Adkins is Ben's stunt double, right? I was looking at some pictures, and it's eery how much he looks like him!
Just look at this picture:

Looks like Ben Affleck's twin! If he had the cleft chin it would be exact. How perfect is this???

Mr. Grave, where did you hear that Mr. Adkins was Ben Affleck's stuntdouble on BvS?

If Adkins truly is Affleck's stunt double, someone will be quite happy with the choice
I admit liking the idea, dude has good moves, and he won't talk in the role, we will see Affleck, or his Batman costume in motion during stunts

I thought zod was somewhat good at fighting.

He was able to counter superman's punches, but there is the fact that superman has zero fighting experience. On the subject of jor-el defeating zod, I think that because they happen to be good friends before the coup maybe zod taught jor how to fight and zod being defeated was an example of the student becoming the master.

Great gif right there!

I don't have issue with Jor-el having defeated Zod on Krypton. His incentive was so high in that he wanted to save Kal that he probably prepared for an inevitable fight with Zod long before it happened. Seems by the "armor up" scene that he was very sure it was going to happe very soon.

You're so right. Superman was stronger than Zod but Zod pretty much counter Supes punches pretty easily and put the balance with him with his skills and knowledge even when Supes had power advantage, in some moments you see that Zod had the rythm of the battle.
The text I highlighted was the thing I was saying all the time. Zod and Jor-el are friends and in that scene they showed that the student became the master. I couldn't say better... BRAVO!!!!
