I'm not sure why Chris B hasn't posted this himself yet, but at Batman News he has a scoop from one of Batfleck's trainers (nutritionist Rehan Jalali) who drops some pretty big spoilers (if true)*

http://batman-news.com/2014/10/27/e...flecks-batman-batman-v-superman-dawn-justice/

*Not doubting Chris B., but the trainer may be misinformed/guessing.

EDIT: Sorry, Chris, I just saw that you posted the news in the Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice News, Set & Official Photo Thread - - though I think this thread would have been more appropriate.

EDIT2: Now that I've seen others comments regarding this news I have to say I'm a bit skeptical of Jalali's motivations/validity. I don't envy you your task of trying to vet these guys, Chris, when you don't have official channels to request confirmations/denials. I appreciate all of the news you do bring us every day and really enjoy your site.

That sounds a lot like some of the elements of the old BATMAN VS SUPERMAN project (ASYLUM). Batman had
Kryptonite grafted into his armor, which shot missles
in that as well. Along with all the other rumors posted there, really.

Oh god, oh god, oh god. Everything in that post was awesome, I hope they're true!

I just can't imagine why Bruce
would be shirtless looking over a wrecked city.

Maybe from a Penthouse? :hmm

Jennifer Garner on Ben's Batman voice:

"We were not privy to the Batman voice at home, but I've been on set enough to hear bits of it. It's spot on. Growly and decisive and sexy, if I do say so myself! Exactly what you would hope it to be!"

Oh goddamnit, they went with the growl?!

Now, now... it could be an understated growl, similar to early Conroy who had to push his voice further.

I very much doubt he'll go anywhere near the extremes of the Bale-growl.

Nope, can't stop me, I'm already flipping tables.

Bale's batvoice is the complete opposite of 'sexy' so I wouldn't worry about Ben sounding like him.

Growl is par the course for the character, really. Most actors playing it have implemented it in some form. I'm actually pretty excited from this news because I'm confident Ben will have nailed the balance that we've all been longing for since Conroy.

Here's hoping she's using "growly" here to describe "raspy."

I can do without the throaty, slurred, out-of-breath routine that I had to endure the last nine years.

I think nothing of what Garner said. I like or dislike Bat-voices based on what I actually hear. Meh.

The voice really shouldn't be that big of a deal in live-action. The suit is required to do most of the work and let's face it, Bat-Fleck has one awesome suit.

All I want is a deep, powerful and slightly gruff voice for this version of Batman. Something akin to Conroy or Greenwood is all we need.

I can only speak for myself but it got rather irritating once Bale started speaking with friends. It just got too absurd for me.

Don't get me started on the Catwoman "romance" and chemistry...

I always thought Batman should sound a bit like James Stewart.

What does that even mean? This isn't a silent movie. :hehe:

We put so much bloody emphasis on Batman's voice, when in truth, there is not an awful lot an actor can do to provide variety. For your typical ''dark Batman'', you have the whispering tones of Keaton, the raspy gasps of Bale or simply something in between (which is where I believe Ben will lie).

How exciting can a Bat-Voice be and why should we criticise an actor for not hitting a pre-determined sweet spot. In live-action, the suit does most of the work... something I felt Keaton understood more than Bale, who at times over-acted through the suit.

This isn't animation, where your voice is your key instrument, but live-action where the whole package counts...

Give me Ben in THAT suit and frankly all we need is a slightly deepened voice. I don't want a BATMAN VOICE, I just want a natural voice for this version of the character.

Huh...interesting, I don't know what I should make of it though. :funny: I want to hear it.

Tobey's voice ruined Spidey for me and so did Bale for Batman. The voice counts plenty, especially if it's on the extreme of either good or bad. If it's somewhere in the middle, then yeah of course it doesn't matter. I don't know why we should hope for middling, though...

I love how Garner is almost involved in this production haha. Good Bat-wife.

 if true!

And I really doubt that she meant Bale's level of growly. I believe it will be a much more natural raspy growl in his voice, like from that "Gone Girl" trailer.

I think the voice is a huge part of the character. A huge part of any character, for that matter. It can make or break a character...a voice is much more than just a sound. Through the voice, the nature of a person can be felt. It's why voice acting in animation is so important, and it's the same when it comes to live-action. Maybe the voice affects me more than others, but sometimes I just close my eyes while watching a trailer or scene to really take in the voice. Take Ultron's voice in the new AoU trailer as a recent example. The voice is probably 60-70% of what makes him so menacing and awesome.

The voice takes on even more importance for Batman. This is not your typical hero, where a manly, heroic voice is all it takes (Supes, Cap). Batman is a solemn, intense, frightening wraith of the shadows, and his voice can make or break his entire image. Just look at animation. Conroy, Greenwood, Weller, etc have laid such a strong foundation for the "Bat-voice" that anything subpar just doesn't cut it, imo. It's part of the reason I strongly dislike any animated movie where Jason O'Mara voice Batman. He just doesn't sound like Batman to me, and it's jarring. While I didn't hate Bale's voice as much as others, it was clearly a huge knock against him and turned a lot of fans (maybe just SHH? I dunno) off.

So yeah, the voice will be a huge part of Affleck's performance. In fact, it's one of the few things he really needs to nail.
