The dude is carrying his little girl's cartoony backpack in the picture below and still looks badass. Come on!:woot:

Hey, if that backpack is as heavy as my school backpack was then it is a deadly weapon, no surprise he is so buff now carring those on a frequent basis.

Nothing cartoony about that.

I saw some idiot over at CBM complaining that having the actors playing Superman and Batman bulk up the way they have is stupid and it only makes sense to have Captain America in phenomenal shape.

It's a good thing I don't keep an ax on my desk because when I read comments like that, it makes me want to bury one in my forehead.

Tell me about it!! That was a really dumb comment... There is no way to look at that to have it make sense IMO.

Now that Ben is huge, he needs to go back and re-do some of his biggest films, with altered titles.

Good Will Hunting AKA Good Will Grunting
Argo AKA Armgo
The Sum of All Fears AKA The Pump of All Fears
Pearl Harbor AKA Curl Harbor
Armageddon AKA Armsageddonbigger

Gon' Curl
The Town (gym)
Smokin' Abs'
Benching Amy
Bounce (your pecs)
Daredouble sets
He's just not as big as you
Squatma
Runner Runner....doesn't exactly need to change.

Yeah, it's like... have you ever SEEN a comic book? Or ANY artist's interpretation of Superman or Batman? They ALWAYS look like bodybuilders.

I'm sure he knows that. Read between the lines. The guy just can't have Batman and Superman looking better than his precious Captain America. Pathetic.

that is just comic book interpretations, dont you remember Michael Keaton? he wasn´t muscular.

:oldrazz:

For real. I actually like this return to the muscular heroes of the 80´s.

Picture of Ben today after a unusually tough gym visit...

He's a recent fan of the Rock, so he decide to ink it up in his honor:woot:

Which is odd considering he's always had a naturally athletic body. Ah, those were the days.

But...but...he's like 40, his body can't manufacture enough testosterone to verbally abuse naysayers let alone gain any muscle mass!!

Those same users are probably just lurking the boards now. I wonder if after the movie comes out we'll be like "Hey, remember when people were skeptical about the movie's quality? Lol, weird times."

And then when he was in top shape, people said he was still fat? Good times.

And then they had the pizza jokes, posting like 2 year old paparazzi photos of Ben like it meant something. Now SwoleFleck's just laughing it all off.

Here's what happened when some of the naysayers tried to own up to being wrong:

His new sci-fi film Interstellar is out in theaters nationwide today, but director Christopher Nolan may be going out to his local cinema not to see how the movie’s doing, but to camp out for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Nolan arguably put the definitive version of Gotham City’s favorite superhero on screen with his Dark Knight trilogy, and he told us he “totally” is psyched to see Ben Affleck’s take on the character in director Zack Snyder’s 2016 follow-up to Man of Steel. (Nolan was a producer on the Superman-centric film.)
“Zack’s a great friend,” he said, “and I know Ben and he’s just an extraordinary guy. I’ll be the first in line to see what they’ve done.”

I came to this forum when those Batfleck pizza jokes were running around and despite wanting to believe that they were somewhat lighthearted and irrelevant (with maybe some people being serious) and laughing along, I never understood the point of making them in the first place :whatever:...I mean, yes, after directing Argo, Ben was maybe not as in top form as he had been while filming movies, but IMO he was in no way fat or has ever been even close to being fat for that matter. In fact, he has a tall, broad shouldered, naturally strong built body and for people who have watched at least 2-3 movies of his, would have to be blind to not see that. So, despite his age, I excepted for everyone in the right mind that the skepticism that he would not be able to reach the required shape for a superhero seemed ridiculous and laughable, and it probably seems a 100 times more now that he has proven (almost) everyone wrong, at least on the physical aspect of the role. Plus, what should have given people a hint is that it looks like Ben is at a moment in his career where he seems to be really committed to his roles (which should of course include physical transformation) and sacrificing the time he could have spent with his family (not saying he is suffering, I'm sure he's being very well-rewarded for his work) to meet the exact requirements of the role which is of course, every actor's job but still admirable IMO.

In all seriousness though, the dude is in tremendous shape for the role and I never doubted for a second that he'd get there.

 It's nice to see Nolan showing Zack and Ben support publicly.

Interesting fact/fiction from #CIA. RT @CIA: We love #Argo, award winning film by @BenAffleck. Today we tell you what’s "reel" vs. "real".

We all know what this means

BatFleck should use a pizza as a batarang at some stage of the film to acknowledge this glorious official internet buildup transition phase.
